Nintendo Direct September 2025: Every Announcement, Game Reveal, Trailer

Virtual boy coming is a dream come true for me. So I couldn't be happier.

That Virtual Boy attachment is one of the most insane things Nintendo have ever done. Like that’s something you’d write in an obviously fake Nintendo Direct leak that’s made to be funny, along with Samus getting a motorbike in Prime 4.

When do we get to rate this direct. I can’t wait to hit the lowest option available!

Rly the only thing that interested me was the Galaxy games.

I didn't hate it, didn't love it. This entire direct has felt like a monkey’s paw scenario, where every exciting announcement came with a caveat.

Pro: It’s a 60-minute Direct!
Con: Without any groundbreaking reveal

Pro: It’s Mario’s 40th!
Con: There’s nothing today (like Mario 99) and we didn’t even get a hint of a new Mario game

Pro: They’re expanding NSO with Virtual Boy!
Con: You need an accessory that costs $99.99 to play it (on top of Expansion Pass) or a cardboard headset. No 2D options are available like on emulators

Pro: Mario Galaxy 2 is here!
Con: It costs $40.00 standalone

Pro: The Mario Galaxy movie reveal!
Con: It’s just a minor teaser

Pro: Metroid Prime 4 has a release date!
Con: That gameplay looked rough

Pro: Donkey Kong Banaza gets DLC!
Con: It’s thin, costs $20, and Mario Kart World (which arguably needs it more) is still ignored

Pro: Resident Evil series is returning to Switch!
Con: 7, 8, and 9 are all dropping…on the same day?

Pro: Final Fantasy 7 remake!
Con: Game key-card

Again, I didn’t hate it, but I feel like the initial high I was riding is slowly leaking out by the minute as more information comes to light. At times, I feel like Nintendo is determined to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

9/10 fantastic direct, had so many games im looking forward to playing. Highlights for me were the new Fire Emblem, Fatal Frame Remake and Dragon Quest 7 Re imagined. Also nice to see Resident Evil 9, shows what the Switch 2 is capable of.

Also is it safe to assume the new Professor Layton isn't making its 2025 release, surely it would have been shown today if so.

A solid 7 for me.

It was jam packed but there was very little for me personally. If you love Mario or life sim games, then you'll love the direct for sure.

Another Mario Tennis game just feels unnecessary when there are other sports not explored or without a recent game.

Announcing DLC before a game comes out always feels dirty as well.

Still no Twilight Princess 😥

I cannot bring myself to hate the Direct that brought back the Virtual Boy to mainstream attention. Besides, it finally gave me a date to justify my Switch 1 purchase: December 4th, 2025. Not to mention, it finally gave me an indie game I was interested in the moment it was announced in Popucom, just wish I had someone to play it with.

A few surprises and a few disappointments. But overall I would rate it a 7.

Overall 7/10, it’s baffling how Mario Kart World wasn’t even mentioned for an update or expansion while DK Bananza got an expensive DLC for one bonus level just weeks after release and Pokémon got another DLC before even releasing the game, egregiously selling cut content from the base game separately.

I like the games, Mario Galaxy, Metroid and Hades II are my standouts but greed at Nintendo is worst than ever (btw you can’t use vouchers on MP4 or Mario Galaxy).

It think objectively, it was pretty solid.

I have it a 9. I’ve been waiting for someone non-Switch 1 games and I am excited about a bunch of stuff shown off today.

Depressing, that's all there is to say. So many cheap monetisation tactics going on. Held back content, dlc before a games even out, re-releases and remakes. When you throw in the game key cards Nintendo is pretty much done for me now. I'll pick up a few games this gen, but I'm sticking with my collection of games from here on.

Only now are we seeing Furukawa's true vision for Nintendo and it's gross.

I was feeling generous, so I gave it a 4.

For me it was stacked with games that I will probably buy at some point but not too excited about apart from MP4 and the RE games. But the very fact we had Samus on a motor bike brings it up a couple of points!

It was okay. Only things I was really excited for were Galaxy 2, the MK date, Danganronpa, and Fire Emblem, but that's four more things than some Directs. I'll give it a 6.

I'll be honest I really loved the Direct. I mean obviously there were some eh things related to the stuff that was announced, but I just kinda move on. Galaxy games being expensive? Have them on Wii already. Paid DLC for a lot of titles? Doesn't matter if I feel like the game itself is good on its own imo, especially if a game is already pretty big. No new major announcements? That's just a lie Fire Emblem is a major title even if I haven't fully gotten into the series yet and was really the only realistic answer for a new major entry in a series that could be releasing now from Nintendo's main studios. No 2D Virtual Boy option? That one is honestly a little disappointing but I just appreciate Nintendo brought it back at all and in the silliest but best way possible. People just gotta stop expecting Jesus Christ to return with each Direct because you'll always disappoint yourself. I'm glad with what we got and gave it a 9

9/10 just for Metroid Prime 4: Beyond release date and Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave.

Nintendo has been getting into some real hot water recently, and I'm beginning to think it's JUST to spite me in particular.

@IOI I'm guessing they aren't going to talk about Mario Kart World before Air Riders launches.

It was really good and showed a lot of games I am excited for, but most of those games are already announced. Looking forward to my first playthrough of galaxy 2 on switch 2 though!

@EvenStephen7 Yeah that Prime 4 gameplay is the first time I’ve seen anything of it that’s given me pause. I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt though, it’s still Retro after all.

That Direct was a 9/10, for me. No Mario Kart World DLC was probably the thing that made me most concerned and even that is likely a temporary feeling because we didn't know 8 would get DLC when it launched and look how that turned out.

And Mario Galaxy 2 in 4k. Sign me up!

@IOI - I don’t think MKW needs DLC yet, I think there is plenty to do so far. But I do hope we get some extra tracks eventually. Honestly, if I want to play more variety of tracks I can put MK8 in.

I thought it was good overall. Some games and DLC to look forward to, and that’s enough for me.

Not earth-shattering but it was a good showing overall. I gave it a generous 8.

I really don’t get the vitriol this is getting. It was good, not great, not awful, just good.

Fire Emblem, Hades 2, Danganronpa 2x2, more Air Riders news on the way, a lot of good Mario stuff...yeah! I'm happy.

This Direct was atrocious. Good reveals ... but Nintendo did showed their ugly greedy nose this time around ... quite a lot.
There were more things that I disliked than what I actually liked.
PROS:
-FF7 trilogy coming to Switch 2
-Fatal Frame 2 Remake
-RE9 coming to Switch 2

CONS:
-DK Bananza "day one" DLC? What is this? 2012? And $20 for ONE level and a mode?
-Fatal Frame 2 Remake incarcerated to Switch 2 when it can clearly be handled by the Switch 1
-Pokemon A-Z "day one" DLC? Da F?
-Open World Metroid Prime? Those words shouldn't be together at all
-$40 for a port of Mario Galaxy 2? HAHAHAHA ... Sure Nintendo... sure.

And that's on top of my head.
Atrocious practices and this new direction for Nintendo is worrisome.

Tip: People, don't give in to the Virtual boy stand. You can have the exact same 3D experience sans the headaches and dishing $100 just by installing the emulator on your 3DS. Not having the option to play those games without the stand is a kick in the

Terrible . I am really worried About what nintendo is doing. A dlc priced 19.99 after 79.99 asked for the base game is insane. Like 70 euros for galaxy 1+2. No Mario no Switch 2 native games.

They announced a concrete release date for Metroid Prime 4, so I'm happy.

The SECOND biggest direct announcement for me wasn't even in the English Direct broadcast, for some bizarre reason, even though it's coming out in the west and in English in 2026.

7/10 for the western Direct, but taking into account the eastern Direct: 9/10!

I really enjoyed it. Switch family is maintaining a diverse lineup and always happy for the mario celebrations as it kicks off the lead up to my bday celebrations later.

I really need Nintendo to expand the wishlist to 500 though. For now I will only be buying what is on my wishlist because I am at the limit so it is getting hard to keep up with what I want.

I think N is really overestimating the want for Virtual Boy stands cluttering up people's homes.

I know I'll get comments about my opinion, I know I will.

But it was absolutely terrible.

Ports, overpriced DLC, paid upgrades, ports, remakes, ports, overpriced plastic accessories, ports...

This was a pathetic, self-indulgent, greedy showing from Nintendo.

I don't mind Pokémon getting DLC already but the only two negatives from this direct were the Donkey Kong DLC and the price of the Galaxy ports. The Donkey Kong DLC looks great but the prove isn't for what it offers, £70 for the main game should mean for a £16 dlc you should be getting 3-4 new levels worth not just 1. Then there's the Galaxy ports which don't offer any new content or real worthy upgrades, so to charge £70 for games that are 15/18 years old is ridiculous.

Do you actually need the accessory to play the Virtual Boy games?

Yoshi looked cute, but Bananza and Pokemon DLC made me loose trust in Nintendo again. Feels like they want me to pay premium prices for games I already own or new games, which will dissappoint me, like Mario Kart World and Bananza.

As usual I feel like saying goodbye to modern gaming, and as usual there is still hope(Yoshi).

Although I was slightly disappointed they didn't announce a new Super Mario game for the 40th anniversary (which I find baffling), at least they announced Super Mario Galaxy 2 (which skipped 3D All-Stars), so I give it an 8/10.

It was disappointing and some parts were horrible.

• $20 Donkey Kong Roguelite DLC. The DK Island isn’t even a full island to collect Banandium Gems, unlike Princess Peach’s Castle Area was for Odyssey where you could still collect Stars (Moons). God of War’s Valhalla DLC was also roguelite, but it was FREE. This should have been free, because there’s nothing worth paying for here.
• The mega stones for the Gen 6 starters in ZA are locked behind online ranked matches. So you have to pay $90 if you want to collect all mega stones. Then there’s the $30 DLC, which makes it a $120 game total. This is disgusting.
• They are seriously going to drip feed games to people who buy the Virtual Boy attachment. There’s 14 ROMs ready to go, so why make them wait? No one will want to buy one when only 1 or 2 games will be available at the start, and will then have to wait monthly or bimonthly for the rest to come out, while the VR collects dust. Absolutely gobsmacked by this.
• New Fire Emblem looks cool, but I’m sad it’s not a totally original game. After how beat to death Three Houses was with DLC and a Warriors spin-off, did we really need another game tied to its setting/lore? I’m sure it’ll be good, but I feel let down that we’re not getting a truly original game.

This one definitely wasn't for me. Between all the Warriors games, horror games, coop games, games we already knew about, and Mario games/events I have no interest in, there really wasn't much to get excited for.

There weren't too many things that got me excited. In fact the hypest thing for me was the Super Mario Galaxy Movie reveal, (I'm not afraid to say I did shed a tear. The music got me.) But looking at it objectively, there was a nice variety of experiences on offer. It's just unfortunate that Fire Emblem does nothing for me as a 'one last thing'. It was nice to see Koizumi though!

I gave it an 8, but it was a really hard Direct to vote on b/c :

First, it was 2 Directs in one. Mario Anniversary for 20 minutes which I'd give a 9, then 40 minutes of other stuff I'd give a 6 b/c it was too long w/ too much filler. What even was that mobile looking circle game?😝

Second, it depends if you own a Switch, Switch 2 or both. If you only own a Switch I'd say you're doing rather well, still getting games like MP4 and the Galaxy 2 pack. If you splurged on the Switch 2 you nay gevleft wondering why after watching that?🤷‍♂️

Third, I call this the Nintendo Paid Direct. Paid dlc, pay for physical dlc amiibo and plastic or cardboard, pay for upgrades,,oay for NSO+EP, all after just paying $450. So much pay to play. So if $ isn't an issue, probably great for you to see. If you spent most of your disposable income on a Switch 2, well it kinda sucks.

But I rounded up to 8 b/c it distracted me from world news for 3 hours. An hour to watch and 2 to discuss. And the world news mostly sucks, so I was glad for it. We'll at least the Mario part. Probably should have turned it off after that.

RELEASE THE RESIDENT EVIL 7, 8 AND 9 AS FULL GAME CARTS. LET US COLLECT THEM!!!

Besides Storm Lancers there was nothing else of interest to me until the surprise Fire Emblem reveal at the end which turned a 4 into a 6. Would've gotten a 7 or 8 if Professor Layton had been involved.

I feel like I didn't watch the same direct as most of the comment sections.

• New Mario sports game, new Yoshi, new Pokemon game, most importantly new Fire Emblem related to Three Houses
• Release date for one of the most awaited games this past decade with a new trailer
• OPTIONAL (yes you have the choice to not get it) extra content for Donkey Kong, Mario Wonder and Pokemon
• Upscaled versions of 2 of the most beloved games of all time
• Teaser for the new Mario movie (which by the way we will get more trailers soon, teaser trailers are not new)
• And a bunch of 3rd party content for people who don't own a PC or Playstation or XBox.

I'm not saying it was a phenomenal direct but this direct had something for everybody. I don't know what they could've shown other than Smash Bros or a new Zelda to make it "better". What else did people want??? I gave it a 9/10.

Also in case people didn't know: Donkey Kong Bananza was developed by the Odyssey team and it released 2 months ago. We weren't getting a new 3D Mario announcement today.

9/10 Hades 2 being released this month has me on a high, Mario Galaxy 1 & 2 was great but the price of it has jaded me a little, Fire Emblem looked superb, Metroid release date finally let’s go, Mario Tennis 🎾 looked excellent, Persona 3 Demo was great news, I’m playing it now, Virtual Boy coming back is funny, Dragon Quest 7 is a day 1 as is Virtua Fighter 5, Resident Evil 9 was a nice surprise to.

This direct was superb, and the Mario film trailer looked great, well done Nintendo. But once again Microsoft were a no show, what’s up with that?

It was a solid 7. Then Fire Emblem showed up at the end! AND it's a sequel to my favorite FE game! So 8.5/10!

I feel like too many strings were attached to these announcements; I don't think it was a bad direct per se, but I am still having troubles being excited for any third party game given the "physical" release is likely another game card such as DQ7. And it is also difficult to get excited over paid DLC which feels like it should have been part of the game in the first place and Switch 2 editions of games feel like a distraction. There are some things to look forward too, but not enough for me to be interested. Hopefully when March rolls around, some more exciting stuff will be on the horizon.

Nintendo's first/second party stuff was ho-hum. Third party stuff had some hits, such as Hades 2. Regardless of hits and misses, it was good to get release date confirmations on several key titles.

Am I the only disappointed and confused by the lack of first party upgrade/patch information? I was really hoping they would continue at least a drip-feed of forthcoming Switch 2 patches for stuff like the Xenoblade games for instance ... kinda shocked to be honest, given how much they focused on technical aspects with the presentation of the Switch 2 and how promising those first patches were ... Oo

Overall, I did not love what I was seeing to be honest: open-world segments for MP4? Why? A kinda of roguelite mode for DK? Why?

Another re-release of SM Galaxy? I don't what to ask why given the movie, but still ... what is the point?

They only thing that really stands out for me is Fire Emblem, even though I am not thrilled to see the whole gambit idea returning. I hoped they rebalanced the whole thing entirely ...

If they had announced a couple of cool Switch 2 patches for "classic" games like Xenoblade (X), Astral Chain, Bayonetta ... then my perception would be that Nintendo cared about the future of the Switch as platform. Looking at what they announced they seem hellbent of milking this platform for all it is worth.

Poor. No Mario Kart World, crazy prices for Galaxy 1 and 2, boring DLC/Switch 2 content for DK Bananza and Mario Wonder. Mario Tennis looks alright, but I won’t hold my breath after the last few entries. VB is an interesting addition, but the mandatory purchase of the stand is lame. No interest in the Talking Flower, due to its lack of interactivity. I might pick up Rosalina’s Storybook. Pokopia was honestly the best thing there imo.

And Z-A... I’ve never missed a mainline Pokémon game since Gen I, but the more I discover about this game, the more inclined I am to just straight up skip it. I think the Kalos starters’ Mega Stones being locked behind online Ranked Battle rewards might be the straw that breaks the camel’s back for me.

@Ralek85 I have my reservations and trepidation about the open-world parts of MP4, but I'm happy to give it a go. I've been waiting for the game since 2017 f*s, no amount of Motorcycle riding Samus Aran is going to deter me from playing this game. Something of note: I thoroughly enjoyed Metroid: Other M, even if the story painted Samus as a whiner looking for approval from her old squad leader, instead of the BA she actually is.

It’s my birthday on the 2nd October.

I may ask my other half to treat me to Mario Galaxy.

@Unit_DTH For sure going to give it a try and it probably won't in any way "ruin" what otherwise looks like a great game, but still, I am very much unclear on why the felt the need to put what looks like tons of empty spaces into a game that always had a flair for the claustrophobic. Wish they had taken at least enough time out of the Direct to sell me on the idea as such at least.

Worst true Direct ever?

Pretty much what I was expecting. It was a good un. Not the best. But by no means crap. There were some media / youtubers citing this as the most important Nintendo Direct ever. Now...if you haven't twigged by now that they say this EVERY Direct, then there is no helping you.

I mean, very Japanese centric and folk seem to be chiomping at the bit over western games like Red Dead 2, Mass Effect, Baldur's GAte 3 etc etc. And as for those insiders harping on about Microsoft games coming, well, maybe they are...but it did nothing for helping everyone be disappointed,

Overall 7/10. There is tons to play and we still have to wait for Nintendo's big franchises / games. Mario Kart and DK will drive the holiday. So Nintendo fans should be more than happy but the people considering themselves Gamers are going to have to wait for the Switch to hit it's stride.

Excellent 9/10. I got like literally everything that I wanted. Plus some unexpected surprises like Danganronpa 2 * 2

Main disappointment was the missing Splatoon Raiders, the main thing I was looking forward to.

I was excited for virtual boy for a while there.
But I'm not paying for a subscription to be able to use a $100 pice of plastic.
(I would probably have paid the $100 if I could have bought the games for $10 each).

@larryisaman Agreed. Overall, I still have faith in the game. It's just that was not how I expected to feel about it showing up today — like at all. Looking forward to our next glimpse and hoping this was just a weird hiccup/unforced error to show it in that state.

The money grabbing DLC tactics ontop of high game costs infuriates me. So poor from Nintendo

One of the best Directs ever. 9/10. Ending with FE after RE was just a cherry on top.

Overall, this Direct left me feeling pretty mixed. There wasn't a ton that interested me, but that Yoshi announcement absolutely made this Direct for me.

Aside from that, the only reason I'm still getting Legends ZA is because I already pre-ordered it, otherwise I would have just not bothered anymore. The DLC really pushed down any hype I had for this game.

I gave the Direct a 7, and 2 points of that is solely Yoshi's game. Nintendo's greed and dumb decisions made this Direct worse than it could have been, but that one announcement left me walking away more than happy at least!

I think a lot of you need to understand that DLC are optional adds to the game. No one is forcing you to buy. You do not need the DLC for the game to be complete, they are just add ons.

I give a 7. A whole lot of nothing but Virtual Boy and Fire Emblem saved it from being a total snorefest

For me the direct was somewhere between "average-ish" and "okay-ish". I give it a strong 6.

I just can't rate it with any of the options in offer. "Unpredictable" is the best word to describe this direct, as Nintendo really went out and announced so many games, but few of them were spoken about before..
I still wonder if some games previously rumoured will be coming soon, like Red Dead Redemption 2 or Tekken 8, and what about Microsoft Studios' games?
Besides, there's still the noticeable absence of a Game Pass-like service on the system, which gives it a major practical disadvantage over basically any Windows-based handheld, or even Steam Deck. I could argue there just aren't enough games for Switch 2 yet, but on Switch 1? It's the other way around!

Maybe Xbox will held specific announcements here some other day, but I hoped to at least see RDR2, Tekken 8 or even Metal Gear Solid Delta. It's nice to see the modern Resident Evil games coming, and Monster Hunter Stories 3 is currently the closest thing to Monster Hunter Wilds on Switch 2, but still...

And what about Mario Kart World's absence? Is that everything the game has? I truly hope not.

Overall I think Nintendo has a different strategy now. Maybe they could still hold a Partner Showcase, either before the year ends or the first general Direct of 2026, anything can come to Switch 2 really. At least they did show the first-party game we wanted, so no need for further presentations on that for this year. Except for Mario Kart World news of course :/

As of now, there is still nothing I’ve seen that makes me say “I need to get the Switch 2 now”.

Also, where the hell is Splatoon 4? Nintendo made 2 games for Switch with updates and DLC, and suddenly they’re all quiet for Switch 2? It’s one of their premiere online games and it’s nowhere to be seen.

Re9 coming to Switch 2 is incredible. Day one purchase for me. The biggest highlight of the direct.
Really thought the whole direct was one of their strongest. My back account cried at the number of games coming out that I'll get.

Really digging the resident evil. I am downright dismayed at having Bonanza DLC, expensive DLC, no free update? Why so expensive and why so soon? Also No Mario kart world updates? Mario kart world has so far not proved to be a better game than Mario kart 8, and it's definitely not worth it as an $80 game, are they just trying to piss the customers off? Nintendo just comes off as snooty and greedy right now... I do like that Mario Galaxy 2 is coming out finally, but I'm kind of pissed that they didn't announce Mario Galaxy 3 for sometime in 2026, that would be brilliant.

@LazyDaisy There was 5 years between 2 and 3 so I wouldn't expect a new one yet not until late next year or even 2027. Only reason Splatoon 2 came out 2 years after the first game was because the WiiU failed, hence why Splatoon 2 had so much recycled content.

@Ralek85 I agree. I wish that MP4 had gotten more than a random afterthought of a blurb with the release date. I mean, they have been touting it as this big great game for the switch and switch 2, but they literally mentioned it in a passing sense and instead focused on... I'm not really sure what.

Somehow I was meh about the midlifecrisis bike for Samus and I do not see the openworld working. But I was excited for this super cute and relaxing Yoshi game. Haha, did not see that coming. I like the Wonder s2 edition and the Galaxy games, but prices are a bit too high to buy them right away. Maybe later, maybe never, ill see. First MP4 this December, I am curious how it will be!

I didn't watch the whole Direct but after I checked the individual trailers here, I will say it was collectively not good.
Very few games I felt interested.
The Mario 40th anniversary definitely will not working for me as I felt completely uninterested with Mario galaxy collection since I already have the Wii version and both of them are not the best 3D Mario games after I played them.
Mario Tennis Fever looked okay but seems too much elemental gimmicks.
New Yoshi game looked okay but 2D platformer is not my biggest hype.
The only my biggest interest and also Dang... It's exclusively for Switch 2 since it used Nintendo IP was Pokopia with gameplay like Dragon Quest Builders.
This game really need a proper physical game with full game data in cartridge since it still Nintendo 1st party game with partner Koei Tecmo as 2nd party developer.
Tomodachi Life for Switch looked interesting despite I still have to wait until 2026.
Kirby Riders doesn't look really interesting.
I have different idea with Pokemon Legends Z-A after I heard about Nintendo stupid game patents.
Not interested with Switch 2 version of Mario Bros Wonders, I already have Switch 1 version.
Definitely don't even care with Metroid prime 4, new fire emblem, donkey Kong bananza dlc, virtual boy, the AAA 3rd party games.
Some 3rd party games like Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined, Monster Hunter Stories 3 I will pick the PS5 version instead, doesn't even care with BS game key card version.
Overall, I will give the score 4 from 10.

This may have been my favorite Direct ever! DQ7 was an awesome surprise! …but I’m most excited for Virtual Boy!!! I’m glad this will help people experience the joys of this ill-fated system!

Anyone got a list of which games are confirmed to have actual cartridges besides Nintendo's?

I've been thinking.. maybe I should "give" myself a Switch 2 for Xmas, if there's is a good Black Friday deal.

Because I do want to support Nintendo as I trust them most in the end and I want them to succeed (and they're quite amicable - although Steam is good too).

But 7/10 because RE9 is coming day one to the console (I just hope it will be well optimized - one of the reasons I might want to buy early).

But a slight price reduction would go a long way..

I was pretty happy with this one. Prime 4 does look good to me with the bike. Any bounty hunter really looks more menacing on a big mean hog. Raising Arizona the lone biker of the apocalypse is the epitome of exactly what I mean.

Beyond that it’s great for me to have a way to play Mario galaxy 2 again, my favorite two 3d Mario games there. The Yoshi game looks adorable and I’ll want to try it, I just hope it has some challenge and is fun to play. Mario wonder I may get again if it adds something for single player; a new character and some new stages would be worth it for me. Fire emblem looked like a much better game in style than the last game and I love that it calls back to 3 houses. Pokémon ZA I’m still not sold on, I just really don’t like catching Pokémon in the drab old city but Pokopia has my interest. Dragon quest 7, 1&2, mortal kombat, and Hades 2 I’ll for sure get physical on the switch 1. Hyrule warriors looks even better than the last with more warriors and tools to use, my daughter and I have been playing thru these lately and it’s good fun. Tomodotchi life can’t get here soon enough. Dinkum is the first I’ve heard about it, but it looks great with friends. I really hope we see some dangerous wild snakes in the bush. Mario Tennis and Kirby will be worth my time.

Virtua Fighter, Suika game, and Storm Lancers are a maybe for me. Virtual boy is cool but I doubt I’ll buy a peripheral to play the thing, 3ds bad on the eyes anyway. Also I had heard Megaman Star force collection is a thing now from the Japan direct. How’d we miss that? That is a definite buy for me and one step closer to legends hopefully. I’m still waiting on more castlevanias making their way over. We still need SOTN and Rondo of blood and I’d consider the 3d games but they’re not a necessity for me. Lots of stuff to look forward to tho.

@UltimateOtaku91 At the rate they were producing content for this franchise, I thought Nintendo would be on top of it for Switch 2, but instead we’re starting with a spinoff. Maybe they’re going to scale back and just make one mainline game this gen. It would be better imo, as it wouldn’t split the playerbase.

I was left feeling very dejected about the lack of Xenoblade patches. I don't feel like Nintendo is doing enough to support their backlog. Obviously I'll get Prime 4, and I already preordered Hades 2, but overall this was a pretty disappointing Direct for me.

Was pleasantly surprised by a new Fire Emblem and the Galaxy re-releases. Definitely happy about Metroid Prime 4. But I still really wish there was a little less "coming in 2026" during that Direct.

Quite good really. A ton of stuff I’d never play, but that’s always the case, and the number of things that made me smile was high. To be a 10 it was missing a megaton of course, which would be anything new 3D Mario or anything Zelda.

There were definitely games presented that I'm looking forward to, so I'd say that it was a good direct. I'm especially excited about Fire Emblem and Tomodachi Life! Pokopia is a "wait and see" for me, but it looks very promising.

Very good direct for me, 8/10. As a huge fan of FE since the first releases in Europe, I couldn't be more happy. This new episode completely hyped me. Otherwise, I didn't miss anything and even got a few surprises. The virtual boy and DQ VII are the two best news for me. Happy also to finally get a release date for Hyrule Warriors, MP4 and FF VII R. The 40th birthday of Mario is not that crazy, but it was expected from my side. Mario Tennis looks great with a new adventure mode.

My only disappointment are the DLC for DK Bananza, it looks great, but that early ? And the one for Pokemon Z-A. I might be wrong but to me, Nintendo always had the image of being fair with the DLCs by being released far after the game release without being truncated content prior to the game's release ...

Also, surprised to not have a date for Elden Ring. Maybe they decided to postpone the game after the recent feedback ?

But seriously, very good direct for me, it makes a long time I haven't been that satisfied.

You can't rate the directs until you know how many games are game key cards and therefore not worth purchasing.

It's just my personal taste but the upcoming games except of metroid do not appeal to me... some are ok, like fire emblem (which looks worse than engage but has the same poor character design) but there was too much switch 2 edition/port/another mario sports game stuff...

@Jhena, you're not alone. I've also become way less impressed by dlc recently. Even just last year, I was always thinking "I wonder if any games I like this year will get any dlc? I would love that, because it would mean more content in a game I like!"

But I've slowly gotten to the point where I really want to get into physical again. But if I get a game physically, I want all of the content on the cartridge (I'm fine with a few bug fix patches not being on the cartridge though, since those don't involve game content and the main build is still fully playable without any updates). I'm also still fine with buying digital games if necessary, which is what I intend on doing with Pokémon Legends Z-A because it will have dlc ($30 dlc at that... oof... almost as much as one of the Mario Galaxy games that were announced, which I'm also interested in). Another one of the reasons I'm going back into physical is so that I can get some games that aren't even available in my country without having them shipped from elsewhere, specifically Hyperdimension Neptunia ones (that have the full game on the cartridge 😃).

Anyways, back to dlc. Honestly, now that I've thought about it a lot the past few months, I'd rather pay $80 for a whole game up front then pay for dlc later, with a few exceptions like Pokémon (though I may even end up skipping Pokémon, I learned that the Mega Kalos starters are locked behind PVP multiplayer so I want to see the unlock conditions for those just in case). For example, the announced physical bundle of Mario Galaxy 1 and 2, two solid games that I have never played before in my life. They are feature complete games that should have no need for updates, except maybe to activate the 4K for Switch 2. I think something like that is worth $70, and if I have a slot in my gaming schedule, I'll definitely pick it up 😃.

At this point, I'm getting a Switch 2 next year unless plans change. Half of me is really looking forward to it, with several amazing new games that look really cool like Kirby Air Riders and Pokémon Pokopia. The other half of me is kind of dreading it, thanks to things like Game Key Cards (not getting a single one of those) and needing a system update for Switch 1 backwards compatibility. And I'll probably just be done with Nintendo completely if that new US patent from a few days ago affects any games (especially JRPGs, which are my favorite kind of game).

@Jhena, Honestly, I'm probably going to have mixed feelings this entire console generation, between being exited for the new games and dreading Game Key Cards and Nintendo of America potentially canceling the releases of third party games I'm interested in, like what happened last fall (which was when my relationship with Nintendo started going downhill, to be honest). The dread is why I will continue to keep my Switch 1 around even after I get a Switch 2.

However, like you with the Yoshi game, I have not yet given up hope that things will improve. Nintendo has belted out a ton of games I'm interested in so far on the Switch 2, so many that I probably won't even be able to play all of them. The backwards compatibility is near perfect and will allow me to continue playing my Switch 1 games even after my Switch 1 eventually dies out. So far, Game Key Cards have not been selling all that well according to charts and all that stuff, so maybe publishers will listen and stop doing those. I always try my hardest to be positive, after all (though it is really hard sometimes 😂).

I have promised myself that as long as Mario Kart World doesn't ever have any paid dlc, then I will purchase and play it years down the road (most likely digitally, assuming that there are free content updates if there isn't any dlc). If it does have paid dlc, I will just skip it since Kirby Air Riders looks more interesting.

I'm glad that you're at least looking forward to Yoshi and had something to enjoy from the Direct! I think Yoshi looks good too, but I'll most likely have to skip it because of my tight gaming schedule.

A bunch of stuff which i really liked though there were definitely some stuff surrounding it which did sour things somewhat such as the Prices on things like Mario Galaxy 2, some of the DLC feeling like its a bit too close to the games release and the odd handling of the virtual boy stuff (the stand being mandatory rather than an option like the various "classic" controllers also meaning that the games are also unplayable in both Handheld and TV modes)

The URL for the "FATAL FRAME II: Crimson Butterfly REMAKE" video is not working, it's not embedded.

Personally, I'm just delighted Two Point Museum finally got a release date.

If not for a couple mood whiplashes (Popucom looks like an awesome action platformer mixed with Zuma legacy but is limited to multiplayer, and the wham return of the Virtual Boy library - over half of it! - threatens to lock me out with a required peripheral I can't be certain to see on local store shelves despite VB emulators and the feature-succeeding 3DS hardware making the 3D effect optional), I'd have rated it a solid 10, but even in the end I was eating good. SMG2 is finally happening, native REVII/VIII ports are finally happening with the equally cloudless Requiem on top, Fire Emblem's Echoes-style revisits have yet to resume but we're getting a whole new game with seemingly yet more ties to 3H. Fever is going "Tennis Story" with its adventure mode, Pokopia looks like an almost overdue Pokemon mine'n'crafter with vague Echoes of Wisdom vibes (on top of a couple more sims like Lynked and Human Crossing: Down Under Horiz- I mean Dinkum), Yoshi & the Mysterious Book just looks gorgeous but also promises a fantasy wildlife research expedition of sorts. Project Zero 2, Danganronpa 2 and even DQVII are all getting even more upgraded releases before I binge my way towards the previous ones... including the already purchased Goodbye Despair on Switch, but the new content sounds like a double-dip after all - and speaking of new content, there are a couple Gen 10 "upgrades" that also tempt some adjustments in my eShop wishlist (no, "more enemies" in Pirate Warriors 4 and "mouse mode" in Stardew Valley weren't among those). Add some more promising bits like Storm Lancers and a couple extras like Mega Man Star Force pack or the rest of FFVIIR subseries targeting NS2 - and bon appetit.

That was my thought. That first direct sure felt... extensive. Just what is there left to talk about? It's... just going to be Sakurai making jokes isn't it?

To be fair, I judged this one as "good", I did have a good time half watching it while busy with other things.

The trailer for MP4 looked bad, and the open world and biking was a big surprise to say the least. I played the demo and loved it so I'm happy it's coming soon and will pre-order nonetheless.

Next to that the new Yoshi game looks gorgeous but I need to know that it will be more challenging than CW and there will be several music tracks this time around ..

SMG are my favourite 3D Mario games, so I will love playing them again on my Switch, they're worth every penny.

I enjoyed SMBW too but a multiplayer DLC is nothing for me unfortunately.

Enough news in any way. Just too bad there is no Super Mario 40 or something similar, it would have been so easy and 35 was so fun. For the rest, I'm already building hundreds of hours of backlog on S2, and that's all that matters.

Also happy with some of the new Amiibos coming. Too bad still no Bayonetta 3 & HW Amiibo's and no Bayonetta announcements either.

As someone with tempered expectations, it was one of the best Directs in a while, because it did exactly what it needed to. It told us about the rest of the big releases for 2025, some more new things for 2025, and things to know about for 2026. Not everything was something you wanted to hear, like Mario Wonder's Switch 2 content being about Co-op and Multiplayer or them already announcing DLC for ZA before the game releases, but it was at least new info.

No new Mario game is crazy. No wonder Nintendo is charging for all this DLC. A Mario Odyssey 2 game is a license to print money. However, I never payed Galaxy 2 and it's been years since Galaxy 1, so I'll no doubt pick that up at some point. But my backlog grows ever larger...

Definitely had a few of the things I wanted to see, such as a release date for Metroid Prime 4 and Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade, plus a few things I did not expect but am looking forward to. Would have been nice to get confirmation of a new Star Fox or F-Zero game, though, plus Genshin Impact and Stellar Blade for the Switch 2.

Overall, I liked it. It was a good, meaty Direct with plenty of things to look forward to. But it did kind of tick me off, though, seeing people in the chat on Nintendo's YouTube livestream saying it was the worst Direct ever. There was plenty of good stuff in this Direct. It might not have been everything that I wanted, but it was a solid Direct.

This Direct felt like it was made for me personally. I would give it a 10/10 but I can see why other people wouldn't be so excited by it. I think finishing with Fire Emblem elicited the biggest reaction I have ever had from a Direct.

The fact that people are actually excited about the Virtual Boy is concerning. If Nintendo offered dog turds for $60 someone will think it's a great idea.

All I ever wanted was an MP4 release date and I got that at least. For some reason they chose some of the worst looking footage I've seen of the game. It's looked great in everything I've seen before, but this motorcycle open world thing almost looked like it was just slapped in as an after thought and the overall game visual fidelity looked unusually low.

Nintendo being Nintendo I guess. Still have high hopes for the game, cautiously.

I went into this with a lot of hope, I was expecting loads and to be honest I left a little bit underwhelmed!

When the biggest announcement for me was virtual boy (yes I know it’s hated, but I’ve always wanted one and I know I won’t be able to afford it) says just how underwhelmed I was. However I did instantly preordered the holder and if it’s not docked into the virtual boy attachment I presume it plays 2D, but I do think ALL the virtual boy games should be available.

Also announcing the Kirby amiibo made zero sense as it ate into the 60 minutes and I felt they couldve easily been mentioned on the Air Rider direct (the 1st one - it doesn’t need another direct)

Oh and I already knew about the movie before the direct so that was 20 mins wasted.

Like I said no surprises for me and I love directs, this though for me was a bit of a dud one

@Yoshi3 I agree with the whole comment, from Nintendo being greedier than ever to playing Virtual Boy games on Red Viper for 3DS. The highlight for me is more Fatal Frame (which is multiplatform). The Virtual Boy's trailer is the most shocking thing I've seen in a while. If at least they had remastered the games or added more than one colour... It's not like it has 100 games.

I guess I'm interested in DQ7, FF7 and the Residents Evil. Not enough to push me to buy a Switch 2.

It was basically "at least MP4 looks cool" for me. One of the most disappointing. I despise musuo, so that didn't help.

Probably one of their weaker ones despite the length. I'm incredibly biased with my hyper-fixation on screeching anime characters with swords. So Fire Emblem and Dragon Quest was more than enough for me...

But I didn't see anything that would convince someone who didn't already have a Switch 2 to buy one now, and Nintendo continues to disappoint with their pricing.
After such a light year I'd assume they'd have a lot to show but they really didn't.

everybody knows that Indiana Jones is coming in 2026, so that is a big microsoft game not covered in the direct.

There was not a single new game that would blow me away. I expected new Star Fox or Sin and Punishment, OR Ocarina of Time Remake. Too much childish boring spam fest. Nintendo needs strong first party lineup, but this was seriously underwhelming. Sure Galaxy 2 is fun, but its an old game. Hyrule Warriors looks fun but its essentially just another very simple hack and slash. Where is Twilight Princess HD remaster or Metroid Prime 2&3?! They mentioned updates for Switch 2- but they haven’t updated even their top exclusives like Bayonetta 3, and from 3rd party Arkham Knight that need an visual update pretty bad. Then we get a Virtual Boy accessory that will work for now only for games that are locked behind subscription?! Why would I invest into that if I cannot use it for the games I can own?! Also, don’t let me start on paid DLC for games already before they released?! That is a total greed that Iwata San would never agree with. At least if there was something like MGSV for Switch 2, or Expedition 33, Doom the Dark Ages. Some later games had fun announcement like Mortal Kombat, Persona 3, Virtua Fighter, but those are still very old games. Glad we got release date for Metroid Prime 4, but that was long overdue. Its sad that Metroid is literally the only game that seems great, plus RE: Requiem, but that is not enough! The most time taken by old Mario Games and the lame and lazy effort games like Pokemon is super disappointing. It just shows Nintendo doesn’t value its roots enough and focuses mainly on kids. I expected more from this. For a first main direct that should show what’s to come this gen and what to look forward to, Nintendo with the Switch 2 really dropped the ball.

There was a lot in this Direct, but unfortunately not a lot appealed to me. If I had stopped watching after the 40th anniversary Mario segment I don’t think I would have missed much, which surprises me because that was 40 minutes long. I do appreciate getting a chance to purchase Mario Galaxy 2, the Mario tennis game looks ok (I have Aces on my Switch 2 already, honestly not sure I need a new one?), and the Metroid Prime 4 game looked mostly good (the motorcycle sections looked bleak and barren, not in an interesting way either). I already knew about Metroid Prime 4 so that wasn’t really anything new. Nothing else piqued my interest. At this point I’m honestly wondering why I bought a Switch 2. Super happy for all the people who enjoyed the Direct, like I said before, unfortunately I just don’t see myself buying much of it (especially at higher prices).

I'm a hardcore nintendo fan but this direct was ass, the worst since I started caring about watching directs.

Most of the games that I'm excited for are remakes such as Dragon Quest VII, Final Fantasy VII, and Fatal Frame 2.

I'm happy to see Switch 2 ports for the Resident Evil games, but I'm curious to know how well they run.

Cautiously excited for the new Fire Emblem game. I'm not invested in the world of Fodlan, but I won't turn away from a promising SRPG.

Samus has a motorcycle. Very cool. Can't wait to pick up Metroid Prime 4 Beyond.

I rate this Nintendo Direct a 7/10. It didn't blow me away, but there's plenty of great games to look forward to.

Prices are completely insane. This got me to join the crowd of people who are really frustrated with Nintendo’s greed. I straight up dont know what Nintendo’s internal development teams are working on right now. 2025 has been an incredible year for Switch 2, and I guess it’s a blessing that 2026 only really has Rhythm Heaven for me so that I have time to play everything from this year. But wow these are scummy practices. $20 DLC for a game from two months ago with seemingly little content, $30 DLC for a game that isn’t even out yet, $40 for Mario Galaxy, I just don’t know. This finally crossed that threshold for me

Mario 40th was strange, focus on film and museum till we got any games,
Galaxey 1+2 seem a lot of money , even with enhancements.
Just checked , i can buy the originals on Wii for around £20-£25 for both, Play them on the Wii U which visually gives them a boost through HDMi anyway.

Not paying crazy money for Wonder. 2 edition.
And the highlight for me was that the 40th big game was a Yoshi Game, . so quite interested in that one.
The Tennis game was pretty cool to, but maybe a Golf one would have been more up my street.

The DLC for DK did seem very close to release. i wont be buying that. it seems like they had it already.
Once I've finished the main game Ill be happy with that as it is a fun game.

Metroid Prime 4 was the big one for me . love the cyberbike. so a def buy, but we new it was incoming anyway.

Age of Imprisonment is a def buy for me, as i love the Warriors games, Unlike mainstream Zelda games which take time and you have to be methodical about.

The Warriors games are good for a quick blast, , do a mission , save and come back later.

The third party stuff where a mix bag. MK collection , a must buy as its on the cart.

The final Fantasy and Dragon Quest games being key cards, are gonna put me off, and will only buy when there dirt cheap.

Not that into Pokemon games, but thought the paid dlc announcement prior to the games release was a tad money grabbing considering it releases same day as the game.

Fire Emblem looked nice, but not the type of game i play loads of, turn based affairs i buy very rarely,
Purley because they take so long, 100 plus hour games are not something i get time to do that often.
but im sure its a long way of presently anyhow.

as I'm currently playing Metaphor Refantazio as my turn based fix at the moment.

And with the Tokyo Game show coming up, Im sure more will be announced from the likes of Sega, Bandai , and more.

Nothing interested me, sadly. Still no reason to buy a Switch 2.

Not that great tbh. Only thing I'm really happy about is Metroid finally getting a date. Pretty underwhelming for the first direct after the Switch 2 launched.

I give it a 6. Not bad.

I rated it 9 for excellent. If there was more about Metroid Prime 4, then a 10. As it stands, MP4 is either lacklustre and Nintendo are trying to hide it or are holding the juicy stuff for a specific Direct. Presently, the new amiibo look the most exciting, which actually portends well for an excellent game. Why make them otherwise? As for the December release date, I knew when Nintendo said "2025" almost 18 months ago, that meant end of the year. If it was earlier or mid year, they would say that. Of course, I really wanted to believe otherwise! Now we know that all that recent activity about an age rating and that poster in London did not mean an imminent release either.

I'm guessing that anyone rating the Direct low is due to false expectations or media hype about a new Zelda or Mario. Zelda is years away, especially with the Switch games selling well on Switch 2. At most, I thought a tease of the next Mario. Even extra Mario Kart World content, it's simply too soon. Nintendo are notorious for pacing their marquee games and extracting as much sales as possible from currently released stuff. The Switch 2 is still in its launch phase and Nintendo need a release strategy that keeps the Switch 2 prominent for at least 6 years. The usual Direct early in the year will teach us more about 2026 and Nintendo's intermediate future.

I hope that the Virtual Boy crashes and burns harder than the original system. WAFJ. Nintendo may have just opened its own grave with this Direct. I have never been more disappointed.

Nintendo please stop with the stupid and worthless Switch2 editions. You rode that pony into the ground after only 2 months.

Well on the plus side, nothing worth buying from this direct this year minus metroid in December. Everything else is next year so I'll have some time to finish up wind waker and a few game pass titles dropping next month like Ninja gaiden 4 and outer worlds 2.

Gave it a 9. Would've given a 10 if they'd announced plans to finish Mario Kart World.

Thought that was a great Direct from Nintendo's side - lots of new announcements and release windows.

Still disappointed on the third-party support, Resident Evil Requiem is a good get, but I wish the remakes came out as well. Also wish there was a surprise Silent Hill 2 port in the works.

I think there's an error that the new Fire Emblem is coming to the first Switch as well.

I have it a 8. I felt Nintendo played it safe Abe swing for the fences with this one. I felt like there was something for everyone here except for maybe fans of western sports games.

2025 is ending off strongly while 2026 is looking stacked just from what we know of. This was a great 1st party-oriented Direct, no mega-huge announcements like the next 3D Mario but there was still a lot of good stuff unveiled.

I'd like to give it a 1,5/10, but since I can't do it... 1/10.
Needless remake of Super Danganronpa 2? Check.
Needless and censored remake of Project Zero II? Check.
I don't care about Super Mario and Nintendo exclusives announcements.

@Skippermonkey Donkey Kong Bananza was that teams priority this year. There was no way they were going to show a new 3d Mario now.

Not the craziest Nintendo Direct, but it was a solid 8/10 for me. I think the lack of a giant game will upset some people, but it was good for what we got.

I'm glad we got the expected Mario movie trailer, but I did not expect it to be a Galaxy movie. I'm so hyped. Galaxy 2 finally on Switch is also hype!

I'm less excited for Super Mario Bros. Wonder Switch 2 Edition because the game is still relatively new. But it is a great game. So good on Nintendo for supporting it more.

Hyrule Warriors Age of Imprisonment releasing in November is earlier than expected. And Metroid Prime 4 still made it this year!

Fire Emblem, Yoshi, and Mario Tennis all look solid, but they're not system sellers. This is my cue to finally play Three Houses and Engage.

DK Bananza already getting paid DLC makes me think it was held off. Not a fan of that. Even scummier is Pokémon Legends Z-A getting DLC announced before release.

I'm glad Resident Evil 7-9 are coming to Switch 2. That's great to have them on the go.

The biggest third party announcement for me, though, was the Dragon Quest VII remake. Totally unexpected, and it looks gorgeous.

I would give that direct a 6 but …. Baby Waluigi! So it gets a 7. Mario tennis looks excellent, the Pokemon poketopia thing looked interesting. Resi requiem also looked amazing, Age of imprisonment too. Metroid looked great but not for me unfortunately.
On the minus side. Too many quick cash grabs shown. Seriously, Galaxy 2 should have been in the 3d allstars compilation in 2020, instead it’s costing 60 quid ,with a game that was, so nobody wants! Too many cash grabs amiibos and a mixed bag of 3rd parties.

I gave it a 5. There were a few games I’m interested in, but with the keycard situation it dampens the excitement. I thought Nintendo would be the lone bright spot in that regard, but for Galaxy we only get the Switch 1 version physically? Virtual Boy is cool, but I have to pay a subscription to use it? I would buy the thing if it came with a cart that had all the games on it. Honesty I’m losing interest in buying games that aren’t absolute must haves like Prime 4. Game publishers just aren’t interested in giving me what I want. So be it.

Not too exciting. The only thing I cared about was Galaxy 1+2.

@LazyDaisy I think I heard somewhere that there are two sub teams working on fire emblem, with team 1 working on three houses and fortunes weave, and team 2 working on engage. Might explain why the two former games don’t look as great but engage looks pretty good

Yall must have watched a different direct than me. Not 1 new original game from Nintendo worth my time in a 60 minute direct. Yoshi WAY too easy. Fire Emblem look like a mobile free to play and that's the closer? Thank God for DK Bonanza!

@Ganon821 Anyone not expecting a new Mario game on the 40th anniversary would have a brain and look at Nintendo's history. Five years ago there was only the frivolous online thing and a 3D compilation, Nintendo are lacklustre in celebrating major anniversaries, especially with a brand new game (I can't remember any), and Nintendo like to pace the release of their marquee franchises.

Who knows, there could be a game next year, perhaps a Galaxy game considering the theme of this year's celebration. Just because nothing got announced in this Direct, doesn't mean it's over. Wait for the one early next year!

PS: If you were someone listening to all the over zealous predictions and got your hopes raised, next time, don't!

That drift on the Samus bike looked like something from the GameCube era. Just looked like one 3D model sliding across a representation of terrain. It didn’t feel like the two were connected.

I was watching the same game within the direct. Are people buying every new cosy crafting Animal Crossing / Stardew Valley -like?

Mixed feelings is a good way to describe how I feel about current Nintendo. Like you, I also always try to be positive, but it is not always possible, and I think being honest with yourself is more important, than forcing positivity. So thank you for telling me honestly how you feel about it.

seeing virtua fighter for a sec was the best part, next to the info on the limited time in-person indoor light show at the museum in Kyoto

Plenty of stuff I’ll be getting that’s for sure. Some great games to look forward to although it’s fair to say that Nintendo continue to play things very safe with Switch 2 but if it ain’t broke, why fix it I guess.

As for Virtual Boy,,,,,,, why. Just why?

The new Fire Emblem was the only thing that got me genuinely excited. That one game alone bumped the show up from like a 3 to a 6 for me. But man, without that, it was mostly cozy games, Game-Key Cards, some kinda safe/bland-looking Mario games, and games we already knew about.

I'm also really disappointed with the output of Switch 2 enhancement patches. I figured Nintendo would at least drop these for their own games at a fairly regular cadence, but we've got nothing since the Splatoon 3 patch on June 12.

And this selection of Switch 2 Editions feels pretty random. I'd much rather just get simple patches for 60 FPS and 1080p handheld for free for most games than pay $10 for whatever else these are offering.

I feel like I'm gonna be saving a lot of money this generation compared to last.

I gave it an "8". It was loaded with SO much, from old games, to new games, to books, to movies, to gadgets and gizmos galore, that even if you didn't like "this" or "that", when it was time for "the other" you can't help but be happy with it.

It didn't have that "Fist-pumping-while-jumping-around-the-room" moment for me, like a Symphony of the Night or Chrono Trigger type of reveal would do to me, but this is a LOT better than the weak little Directs so far.

What a bunch of whiny cnuts Nintendo Life commenters are these days.

I don't see why the longest Direct of all-time had to have so much filler in it. Some of those games wouldn't even have stood out in an Indie World Direct. It was great though overall.

I had the same question about life sims - how many can we need 😂 Is it just me or did all of them kind of look like a ripped off mix of Animal Crossing and Minecraft? (Edit: scrolling through the rest of the news from the past day my eyes landed on this: "NEWS Pokémon Pokopia Looks Like An Adorable Mix Of Minecraft And Animal Crossing" 😂 Apparently I'm not alone lol, though I do think also Dinkum or smth and the mii life sim also looked samey...)

I liked the Direct overall but it had such weird content and flow I thought: why so many dime a dozen games shown off. Also, where's Elden Ring? I wonder if it's getting its own airtime soon or if there is something more worrying about its no-show like a delay.

Lastly, I might have lived under a rock but Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined took me off guard in all the right ways: day one for me!

I gave it an excellent as it was pretty much what i was expecting and hades 2 will be amazing. I am neutral on the virtual boy. I don't mind it I suppose but I was expecting a GameCube game to be revealed. Considering how slow these games release for nso in my opinion adding yet another system will make releases for the systems I care about even slower as resources are being allocated here.
