Nintendo has announced that Mario Tennis Fever will launch for Nintendo Switch 2 on 12th February 2026.
The game, which you can check out in the trailer above, looks like it's taking Mario Tennis back to its glory days, packed full of features, modes, and even an adventure for the cute characters involved to work through!
We'll have more info on this one as it comes in, but a new tennis game from the Mushroom kingdom is always a good time, and with brand new Fever Racket mechanics, a roster of 38 (!) characters, tournament and trial modes, motion controls and online play...we're fairly excited already!
Looking forward to Mario Tennis Fever? Let us know!

Now we know why aces didn’t get a free upgrade. Don’t free upgrade any of the old games like yoshi if you’re about to release a new game in the series. Genius.
It looks wonderful.
@sixrings same feelings, also have Ace and it really felt abandoned.
Don't know if I'll get this one.
@tourjeff my six year old was completely confused why but it. Then he saw the baby Mario’s and it’s must buy. Nintendo knows what they’re doing.
It looks like another solid Mario Tennis game.
Great news!!! I loved Tennis Aces and I hope this will be just as good. Mario Tennis Amiibo would be so cool to go with this
Not for me but hope everyone else enjoys it I stick to my n64 and GameCube version in my collection 💚💚
I liked the 3DS iteration moreso that ACES on Switch (both good IMO). But I generally have always liked the series as a pick up and play game. So I 100% down. Switch 2 game as well.
@Ade117 aces looked solid. I think with these sports games we need to wait and see. But good work being an eternal optimist.
It's just TENNIS.
Why did you link the Japanese trailer???
I hope it's not $70-$80.
At last single player rpg mode (so it seems).
Ngl this looks really good!
Glad to see Nintendo listened to the complaints about the previous sports games and revealed a bunch of content for this. So excited!
Bro they might actually do it. They might make a Mario Tennis on the same level as Power Tennis finally. Couldn't be happier
It looks decent but kind of hoped they would give some of the other sports titles we haven't seen in a while some love rather than tennis again
Looks cool, looks like it has a decent amount of content! Never expected to see Baby Waluigi in my lifetime 🤣.
Hang on, how am I the first to bring up Baby Waluigi being brought into existence with this title?! He's come full circle with the tennis titles.
(Edit: 20ish seconds late apparently, nevermind! Well done ShieldHero, we have our lad either way.)
this looks like a joy to play, and so many characters and powers, yay! hopefully it wont be $70. the story mode looks GOOD though
Well, at least Camelot is still getting a pay check. Golden Sun still dead, but hey! We got Baby Waluigi now.
So that's... something
Didn't love Aces, but this one looks like a more complete package.
I'll probably end up buying it..
@fenlix prepare to be disappointed

This looks really good!
They skipped over baseball :/
@sixrings Free upgrades were predominately for internally-developed Nintendo games. I'm not saying that's right or wrong, but that's what the majority of those games all had in common.
It looks good, but not $70+ good. This is like a $50 game to me so I’ll probably wait for a discount.
That said, the visuals look very nice, I like the power up rackets, and the story mode with the babies looks really cool. Baby Waluigi cracked me up!
Looks fantastic. Very excited to try motion controls and the babies RPG (lol!). Anyone here play the tennis RPG on Turbo Grafx? World Court Tennis?
This better be one heck of a tennis game if you're charging 70 bucks
I'm choosing to die on the hill that I wish they wouldnt keep bringing back Story/Adventure mode for these sports games if they're not gonna be much more than elaborate tutorials with serviceable story beats in between.
This is me playing armchair dev, but that dev time could be used for more replayable parts of the game, or even a slightly lower price tag overall (assuming this winds up being a $70-$80 game).
Price point probably going to kill this for me too. If it has good amount of single player content, then I'm willing to pay 50 euros for it but I'm not getting it for 70 euros.
Never really been into the Mario sports games, but if this new entry into the Mario Tennis series includes an Adventure Mode, I might just try it out.
Funny how people feel it’s not worthy of full price to me. Back in the day games were about the same price often hitting $70 even if crap with barely any content.
I’m in the pro Mario tennis camp tho. aces was great once they added the content. This has way more right out the gate. Best M Sports title they could’ve announced!
Very excited about this one! I know it sucks Nintendo increased the prices but come on really. Some of you saying it looks like it be worth maximum €50, while Aces had less content and was a €60 game. Let's be realistic here.
Needs a better motion control than Aces.
The game on courts doesn't look as beautiful as it could be (but enough), but the story environments looks very good !
Baby Wario and Baby Waluigi. Nice !!
@N00BiSH and even worse no mega battle!
baby WaLuigi

@Itsashame Ace wasn't worth the price either.
@fenlix well, that's just like your opinion man. No way this will be cheaper tho, so vote with your wallets I guess. I'm getting it day 1 😁
Looks a lot less manic than the last one. I couldn't get into Aces at all, it was just like random nonsense constantly, it didn't feel like tennis. I just want something that plays more like Wii Sports tennis. This looks cool, but I hope there's a demo because I'm afraid to spend the money after last time.
This looks good but it better end up being $60 or less, otherwise I think I'll wait until a sale. I really enjoyed Tennis Aces but still found it a bit hard to stomach the $60 then
Shut the front door, adventure mode is all I need in a new Mario Tennis game. Reminds me of the amazing gba games! This direct was a KILLER
Baby Waluigi might be one of the most frightening characters I've ever seen
I'm waiting for the mario golf game.
Looks great (especially like what we've seen of the story mode personally), so looking forward to it at the start of next year when my copy arrives - preordering it as soon as my usual retailer has it and so discounted, too!
Looks good, but I have yet to play the last one.
Mario Tennis Aces was disappointing and didn't feel finished when it was released especially if playing on your own. So not going to be burned again.
The lighting is even better than the previous game, but I guess that's it... Not the most exciting announcement, but nice I guess.
I actually hope this one costs less than $70. As a spin-off it doesn't look like it got that much in development to have the bigger price tag.
@tourjeff A lot of their Switch games felt abandoned unfortunately.. Not all though. Aces is fun, Mario Golf Super Rush as well. Switch Sports can be fun but they need to add more to it.
I'm not liking what they're doing though. Charge full price for games, not a lot of content, then launch another one in a few years. I'm not going to support that anymore.
Their lack of patches/content updates is shocking considering most companies are now adding lots of content post-launch and are surpassing Nintendo (have surpassed actually).
@SamSt565 Lol . Isn't he adorable? Ehem.
Watching it again now, this is reminding me Dragon Ball Daima. Japanese people.. always copying each other in different ways, yet making new unique elements.
I hope this time there's a beefy single player content. I didn't get my money's worth with Aces.
That Japanese announcer is definitely pre-ordering this, he was very excited.😂
I could see me borrowing this from my library to play thru story mode, which probably only lasts 5 or 6 hours, that's enough tennis for me, my family is over it. Wonder dlc will be enough for family time.
least it looks more fleshed out than the WiiU Tennis one.
@Zeebor15 It appears Camelot will be doomed to make the same Mario sports games over and over from now till the end of nice. RIP Golden Sun.
I liked Aces, but I don't really feel like I necessarily need a new version of Mario Tennis each generation. There's only so much you can do to differentiate one Tennis game from another. I'll probably wait to see the reception. If people are saying it's the best competitive Mario Tennis game, I'll give it a shot, but if it's more of the same...probably pass. Or wait for a big sale.
I wasn't expecting a Mario sports game to have an adventure/story mode.
I may eventually check this out in a few years, hopefully at a discount.

Yeah same here. My family & friends don't like games to be too serious. Especially sports games. They like it wacky.
30 different wacky "fever rackets" is perfect.
Tennis again? I enjoyed the last games single player story but seems like other sports would be given a go
I don't like the repetitive nature of sports games, so I like the adventure mode idea. But playing as a baby is off-putting. I even want them removed from Mario Kart.
