SNK has announced it's releasing the ACA NEOGEO Selection Vol. 9 and Vol. 10 for the Switch. It will arrive in Japan on 18th December 2025. There's no local release mentioned but the previous collections have also included English-language support.

Playtonic Friends and MegaWobble have announced a surprise expansion to one of the cutest hidden gems of 2022, Lil Gator Game.

Hello Kitty Island Adventure's long-awaited DLC, Wheatflour Wonderland, is out on Switch today in North America for $14.99.

Europe and Australia will have to wait until next week, 23rd September (as per the game's Discord, via HelloKittyIsland subreddit) , to get their hands on the expansion, which brings a newer Sanrio character to the game, Cogimyun, to the island.

We've been keeping an eye on Absolum's roguelike / beat 'em up fusion since we first went hands-on with it earlier this year. Ahead of its launch on 9th October, publisher and co-developer Dotemu has today revealed a new gameplay trailer, and it looks every bit as stylish as we were expecting.

Aside from giving us a closer look at the fantasy beat 'em up action, the new trailer showcases some of the game's meta progression, helpful additions like co-op and recruitments, and explains how your path through the lands of Talamh can produce permanent game changes.

We really enjoyed Lumo when it launched on Switch back in 2017, awarding the isometric action-puzzler an 8/10 and saying that it "provides a modern isometric platformer, offering (as you'd expect) improved audio-visual presentation over the classics of the genre, whilst still providing the same kind of entertainment."

Famitsu has provided the latest look at the boxed charts in Japan, and it's another resounding success for Mario Kart World, with the Switch 2 launch title selling another 38,026 copies.

Borderlands 4 made its debut, with the PS5 version coming in at number 2 after selling 13,029 copies. A decent start, to be sure, but Mario Kart World's commanding lead is going to take some beating.

Growing up, I absolutely loved MediEvil on the PS1. The spooky yet lighthearted aesthetic really spoke to me as a child and would ultimately help foster a lifelong passion for the horror genre. So when I saw trailers for Gloomy Eyes from developer Fishing Cactus, I was instantly enamoured with the Tim Burton-esque vibes.

Drawing inspiration from the likes of Little Nightmares and Inside, Gloomy Eyes is a puzzle-adventure that stars two characters, Nena and Gloomy, who begin an unlikely friendship. Described as "self co-op", the game is strictly single-player, but you’ll be swapping between the two protagonists on the fly in an effort to complete each level, while voiced narration provides context and backstory.

Japanese dev outfit Sting has just announced Baroque YA, a collection of four games from the genre-spanning series, will release on Switch (in Japan only, for now) on 18th December.

Originally released for the Sega Saturn all the way back in the Spice Girls-heady days of 1998, the first Baroque is a post-apocalyptic RPG in the roguelike vein that was eventually ported to Wii in 2008.

There is a lot to be distracted by in the Donkey Kong Bananza DLC. It might be the beautifully reimagined DK Island, the fast and frantic Emerald Rush mode or... actually, that's about it. But those are two pretty distracting things! Distracting enough, we'd say, for a sneaky Easter Egg to slip under the radar.

If you had asked us yesterday whether we spotted the Namco reference in the DKB DLC, then all you would have got in return is a blank stare — and that's with near enough 10 hours of Emerald Rush roguelike runs under our belts. But modding extraordinaire Christa Lee has opened our eyes. What's been seen cannot be unseen.

It's not too long now until we finally get our hands on Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment on Switch 2, with that 2nd November release date rapidly approaching.

To sate our appetites in the interim, Nintendo has dropped a new teaser trailer showing off Koei Tecmo's very slick-looking Musou action featuring all of your favourite lunatics from the Zelda series. Oh, and Zelda herself, who is shown kicking seven shades out of huge armies in gameplay footage that, as a big Warriors franchise fan, this writer is incredibly excited about. It's all so smooth, so 60fps, so crystal clear and beautiful. Hold me, Tingle!

The Touryst was a delightful little game from developer Shin'en Multimedia, and the company has now revealed that its official re-release, The Touryst: Deluxe, will launch on the Switch 2 next week on 25th September 2025.

Pre-orders are available now at 19.99€ / $19.99, though current owners who purchased The Touryst from the Switch eShop can bag the re-release at a heavily discounted price of 4.99€ / $4.99.

Nintendo has today announced it will be expanding its Switch Online + Expansion Pack service with two more games for the Game Boy Advance library.

They include the Namco titles Mr. Driller 2 and Klonoa: Empire of Dreams, and they'll be arriving next week on 25th September 2025. The puzzle title Mr. Driller 2 started life in arcades and was then ported to the GBA for the system's Japanese launch.

Remember how R-Type Tactics I • II Cosmos by Granzilla was meant to be coming to the Switch this year? Well, it's now been delayed (again).

In an update during a live stream, the developer announced the title would be arriving on Nintendo's hybrid system in 2025 instead of Fall 2024. No reason was attached to this delay, but the developer has apologised once again.

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment is the next game in the Zelda series, and it's coming to Switch 2 on 6th November.

I've become so used to Nintendo taking its sweet time with DLC rollouts I assumed there was no way we'd get first-party add-ons within the first year of Switch 2. Happy Home Paradise, the Booster Course Pass and Side Order were all pleasantly surprising, not because of their packed bonus content (though that was a welcome factor), but because I had given up hope of ever hearing from these games again. So, you can only imagine my surprise when Nintendo flung an image of DK and Pauline at me last week, accompanied by the words 'DLC' and 'Available Today'.

It has been a little over two months since Donkey Kong Bananza launched on Switch 2, and the DLC is already here. The DK Island & Emerald Rush expansion packs in a new area to explore and a ridiculously fun new game mode, but its proximity to the base game's arrival and a £16.99 / $19.99 price tag make it difficult to shake the feeling that this add-on content should have been included from the jump. In short, this banana is split.
