Well, it looks like Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter is absolutely happening, as a teaser that appears at the end of Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter has been doing the rounds online.

Shared on Reddit and reported on by Push Square (via Gematsu), the teaser is hidden within the upcoming remake of The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky, which launches on Switch and Switch 2 this Friday, 19th September 2025.

If we had to guess, the teaser probably plays you've rolled credits. And for good reason; there are some pretty big 1st Chapter spoilers there.

We're not going to pop the video here, and we recommend you only watch it if you've played Trails in the Sky on PSP or PC before (and/or SC) or you don't care for spoilers, but if you're curious, go check out the Falcom subreddit. Instead, have a look at last week's combat trailer to give you a little tease of the remake:

This shouldn't be surprising news, and we're sure Falcom will announce something once 1st Chapter releases, but Falcom president Toshihiro Kondo has already hinted at the sequel's existence just a few weeks ago.

While we wait for some more official news, you can check out what DLC packs are coming to the upcoming 1st Chapter or consider the recently-announced Nintendo Switch 2 Edition.

Makes sense but still, good to have confirmation that they intend to remake also the second game (and hopefully at some point the third one, too) - won't watch the teaser myself to avoid the spoilers, but thanks for sharing the link for those who want to!

I mean, it couldn’t not end with a teaser considering what happens at the end of the game. It would be like watching Fellowship of the Ring then thinking yeah that’s that, won’t bother with the rest.

Sounds good, if they do the first one they might as well do the second one! Wasn't there a third one as well? The first one is still on my wishlist for now, and depending on reviews, I might pick it up after I finish Dragon Quest XI (whenever that happens 🤣).

I mean, thats how the original game ended too. I won't go into the details, but the original game was part of a trilogy, so I would expect the remakes to follow that.

The glaring "1st Chapter" is what did it for me. I know the 2nd chapter was always suffixed with "SC", but has the first game always had a suffix? Plus, considering that Falcom is just dumping the whole Trails series these days, none of this should've been a surprise. I'm just glad the first series is here now so I can begin the Trails series in order finally.

I'm of two minds. On one hand, I really want to support this release and start here since the Trails series has an entry barrier. On the other, a friend gifted me Trails In The Sky FC on Steam a couple years ago, which I haven't yet played (Wanted to catch up on Ys first). I'd essentially be buying a game I already own.

I realize I could play both, but unfortunately my free time is finite. Plus, I'll admit I'm minimally put off by the remake allegedly having a longer runtime.

@Tyranexx the remake has added content. Making it the more definitive version of the game and it's gameplay is also more balanced in the remake so ur probably better off getting the remake

I've long thought it would be cool a la Marvel cinematic universe to announce a game at the end of another game.

@Tyranexx some battles in the og are downright unbeatable without the perfect setup and luck and that's even with playing on easy or normal if ur going for a higher difficulty ur gonna be doing that with ng+ bonuses

@Drago201 Such battles DO sound like they need a few updates. I'd only expect fiddly/perfectionist stuff like you're describing at higher difficulties.

You might have convinced me to go with the remake instead lol. I appreciate the input!

Don't watch it if you haven't played FC and SC, I'm on SC Chapter 1, and got spoiled for a twist later on.
