The Touryst: Deluxe Hits Switch 2 Next Week At 4K / 60fps

The game was fun. Guess it's been long enough to start a second playthrough on my Switch 2.

Wait, the Switch 1 version was already 60 fps?

Yeah I can get on board with this. Will nab it for some chilled out gaming post-Silksong (if it ever ends).

Pretty fun game! I'd rather had a proper sequel, tbh, but it's been quite a long time since I played it, so it's probably a perfect time for a second run, with all the improvements and extra content.

I need to hear more about these new locations, items and quest. If there's another couple of hours of joy to be had then I'm happy to part with £4.99. Great little game

I appreciate the discount for current owners, easy purchase for me, even though I've owned the game for years and still haven't played it.

I am not interested to buy the game again. The discount seems more fair but I have the physical release from Super Rare Games.

Ill definitely pick it up for that £20 price point. I was always interested in it on the Switch, even playing the demo, but never got round to purchasing.

With me apparently sucking at gaming and the Mothwing in Silksong giving me trouble, I think i need something a bit more relaxing to chill me out.

@RupeeClock how would that even work? eShop can't detect if you have a physical version or not

@Sylamp it did with Hogwarts and was the cheapest way to upgrade.

From memory, there was an update to the SW1 version that was a link on the start page. Once clicked, it linked through to the eshop. Not sure if it will be the same but on purchase of the upgrade it downloaded the full digital SW2 version of Hogwarts meaning you could sell your SW1 cart as no longer needed.

@Sylamp They can just make the Switch 2 upgrade pack be 5€ and that's it. Should work with physical games as well.

This game was like wandering through purgatory for me. But it’s one of those ‘nice wee games’ where expectations are lowered so it gets mad high review scores.

I’ll probably end up upgrading, double dipping for more of those purgy vibes.

that was easily the worst part of the original game, it made navigating them incredibly frustrating so it's disappointing that there are seemingly no improvements made to it

@B3RTAY I'd argue expectations are set accordingly (not lowered, why does everything have to be oversimplified down to just one dimension?) otherwise by your logic only massive budget AAA games with 'high expectations' can score high. This is bonkers and you know it.

You’re the one assuming I only think AAA games can score highly, but the thing is: I like low key, easy breezy games - very much so. Just not this one, it’s missing something in its world that’s not so much to do with content, but atmosphere.

Never bought this and I'm a fan of the studio so I'll pick it up for NS2. Seemed like a goofy game.

I vaguely remember playing the demo on Switch and my main takeaway was that it was frustrating without a 360 camera. Does 'Improved controls' include camera control?

This was a 7/10 game for me.

@B3RTAY you know, when I first read your comment I thought you were slating the game but now that I've re-read it I've realised perhaps you used the term 'purgatory' as in cleansing the soul (not a state of eternal suffering as was my initial thought). In that case I would agree, it definitely is a soul cleanser and I think it's a nice little game. I still disagree with you though and think that nice little games can fill the 'nice little game' brief perfectly and deserve the same chance to score highly as the big budget games.

Or did you mean eternal suffering?

Yes. And its port was the only 60 FPS game on PS5.

I really enjoyed playing this game, though I didn't finish it. I got sidetracked with other games. I'd definitely pay $4.99 to upgrade and finish the game.

This was a fun, unique game that I haven't played since I finished it years ago. My kid (when little) was always interested in watching me play it, and now that he's gotten older and good at games, this seems like a no-brainer to pay $4.99 for the upgrade and play through it together again. Maybe this time I'll just watch him play.

Was a fun game but I loved it more than I should have just because of the visuals.

Might pick the upgrade up just for the eye candy. Anyone know if the save file carries over?

Really cool they’re upgrading. I had a good time with it, very charming and a fun variety of things to do. Tho I did feel like it was missing something I can’t quite put my finger on,
