Where To Buy Kirby And The Forgotten Land + Star-Crossed World For Nintendo Switch 2

Is the upgrade free or cheaper for online plus expansion members like BOTW and TOTK.

@OldGamer999 hmmm. If it's a Nintendo switch 2 EDITION it will be a paid upgrade for NON switch online expansion pack members. I've read around £10-15.

Game prices won't fall dramatically until Switch 1 is phased out. So a couple of years at least at these inflated prices

This is the upgrade that makes me question things the most.

Adding a new side adventure DLC is not the same thing as having better frame rate and performance.

The other upgrades make sense. This one kind of doesn't.

I don't like the idea that games that could function perfectly fine on Switch require Switch 2 just because Nintendo says it's time to buy a new console.

Bravely Default is another example of them forcing the new console for the sake of a game that would have no trouble running on Switch 1.

I'm not a fan of them using things like this as a way of enticing fans to get the Switch 2.

...I'm going to get it in the future, most likely, because I adore this Kirby game and want to play all of its content, but I am not really a fan of the way they're handling it.

If this version contains the Switch 1 card plus the upgrade Pack then isn't it cheaper to buy the Switch 1 version plus upgrade pack? Or a used version plus upgrade pack?

Can someone tell me WHAT IS UPGRADE PACK in physical box?

Simple code in box, some kind of bonus squeezed in cart or something else?

Since I already own Kirby and the Forgotten Land, my plan for it is to simply download the Upgrade Pack on Switch 2.

For Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, I'm still not sure what to do.
What I want the physical NS2 Edition to be (and also those for Kirby and Mario Party in particular) is to be able to use them on Switch 1 as you'd expect (without the performance/enhancements and DLC), but you get the perks (on the cartridge, without downloads) once you play it on a Switch 2.

If it works like that, I'll buy the NS2 Edition of Metroid. Though at this point, I'm not sure it will be the case.

@HammerGalladeBro I think these physical Switch 2 Editions have the Switch 1 cartridge in the box. If that is the case you can use the game on both systems.

I remembered Kirby's Dream Land on the Game Boy, so I will need to play it on the NS2

but felt that it had already taken things to its limits.

Are these Switch 2 carts with the upgrade on cart or Switch 1 games with a download code for the upgrade.

@Enigk switch 2 carts with the upgrade on the cart, file size for the game revealed this with it being smaller than the switch 1 version

@Dragwhite Why does that reveal that it is a Switch 2 cart? On the cover it says it is a Switch 1 game.

@EarthboundBenjy I think it’s hard to know yet for certain whether the new part of the game really could be done on Switch 1. You could see the game struggling at points on Switch.

Either way this is definitely a nicer and more consumer friendly way of bundling upgraded graphics with new levels than - say - Mario 3D World. I’d love to play Bowers Fury but I’ve got the Wii U version and I can’t really justify full price for it on Switch. If there had been a similar upgrade model I would have bitten.

@Medic_alert It would be interesting if NintendoLife does some investigation on this. The Nintendo website is also vague. But yes if it was just a red cart that includes everything on the cartridge then it wouldn't need al the information on the cover making the artwork uglier.

@Dragwhite Thanks. I was just going by the vague blurb on those hideous covers. I think for most of the Switch 2 editions I will stick to the Switch 1 cart and buy the upgrades. At least the cart can still be used on a regular Switch.

seems like if there’s text on the front of the box it’s bad news, either one of these keycard games or a Switch 1 cart with upgrade store code.

my speculation on this mainly comes from the fact that the file itself compared to the switch 1 version seems to be smaller than it by around 100mb or so, which strikes me as it being on the switch 2 cart with the new content included

i feel like given the switch 2 branding on the box itself, to open it and then see a base switch cartridge would be a little counterintutive, not false advertising as the game still comes with the switch 2 code but still, jarring to say the least

oh absolutely, i'm hoping we get some clarity eventually even if it's just a small thing on nintendo today given they're going for one piece of switch 2 news a day until launch

Zero chance anyone sane pays $80 plus tax for an old Switch 1 game.

It is still £13.85 for the DLC on SHOPTO. That is where I got mine!

I'm enjoying double dipping in this game and playing the expansion, the game is great but I hear what many say: 80 bucks is pretty much an insane price for it.
