Hi everyone. Hope you all are well. I’m going to continue playing paranormasight and ridge racer on the switch. But also going to have a movie themed weekend and dip in and out of Robocop,Jurassic park,Batman and Gremlins 2 all on the game boy played through a super game boy on the snes.

I am playing Bayonetta 3 on the Switch every now and then, and will participate in the weekend ritual @ Tetris Effect Connected.

I took the Switch 2 along as well in case I want to play MK World, but I'm collecting Peach Medallions and I miss 3 ... which will probably be a pain to find. Going to use one of the online interactive maps, after the NLife guide left me in this situation ... I don't know what I did wrong .. but it's just what it is. The game map is really lame imo.

Morning sports fans.

I’ve had a fantastic week away in Italy to celebrate my 35th (gulp) birthday, which meant lots of gaming:

-I sunk 60 hours into Fantasy Life i, which was the game I bought myself for my birthday/ holiday treat. I rolled credits yesterday and am now chipping away at getting all of the shrines in ginomorsia and maxing all my lives to hero rank. The majority of my lives are on expert. I had the original on 3DS but this one really has grabbed me and I adore it. Looking forward to the DLC and still LOADS left to do in the post game.

-My wife and I have been plugging away in Sunderfolk, which is a tabletop style SRPG in a fantasy setting, you play as an animal character with a specific class which you can choose from. Naturally I’m a giant polar bear tank, lol. The whole campaign is co-op. We are 35 hours in and have been loving it. We are approaching the final act now and the story is picking up. This is a must play for fans of For The King.

-If I have time, the wife and i are going to start DK Bananza, our freshly ordered physical copy has seen no love yet, and we will do co-op from the start. It’s not usually my wife’s type of game but she wants to play as Pauline whilst I’m DK just to experience it.

Filling the Sticker Museum with 150 unique stickers, some of which can even be evolved, kinda feels like another well-known game series…

Patapon 2: I wanted to take a longer break between 1 and 2, but could not resist.
Octopath Traveler 2: finished one chapter 1 and I’m not hooked at all. I’ll try to do another one this weekend.

My new framework for SmileBASIC seems to be coming along well enough, without breaking, so far! I'm hopeful that I can make use of it to write a myriad of Typically AGameAWeek games within a single download, instead of ending up with 150+ games that all end up having their own download code. .. That's a bit of a trek to expect people to trawl through!!
The first game will just be a standard Snake clone, but that's only because I'm having to build the framework at the same time, and realising just how much more stuff I need to add to the framework before it's ready to go live.

P.S. This is what I'm "Playing" ... I already got bored with MKWorld, and Bananza ended up having too many "spin spin spin spin spin" boss battles that it made me nauseous.

I'm gonna give a little PSA because I've not noticed it mentioned by anyone, anywhere. If you're a Tetris 99 player and have missed special themes in the past, some of those you missed might have recently appeared in your list of themes for you to unlock. I missed about 6 in total that didn't used to show in my list, but just recently I discovered that 3 of them had now appeared, so I'm back to earning tickets to unlock them (1 to go, then hoping my elusive 3 others will appear at some point).

Also back into Tears of the Kingdom. About 165 hours in and plenty more to do it seems.

I'm away this weekend, somewhere without wifi, otherwise I'd also be re-downloading Hollow Knight for a quick fix before Silksong. Might have to play Ori or Metroid instead.

I’m still thoroughly enjoying my playthrough of Cyberpunk 2077. They really did a great job optimizing it for the Switch 2. I’ve also been clearing up some backlog as I’m nearing the end of Ace Combat 7. Can’t wait to see these boards once SilkSong drops in 2 weeks! 🤡

On Xbox I’m going to continue playing through some Gamepass games…there’s a ton of value on it right now and looking forward to Outer Worlds 2 …would love a Switch 2 port!

CHIBI-ROBO! For Gamecube via NSO. Loving this so far. Never had it back in the day. Wasn't too sure for the first hour as found it a bit slow with too much talking going on, but once the tutorial stuff is largely done and you get used to the controls, it really picks up. Annoying at first how quickly his battery runs out, but gets better once you start upgrading and getting more items.

Little bit stuck now how to progress further past the foyer with the Egg army men. I know I need a mug from the Spaceman, but not sure how to get him to give me one! Anyway, it is a fun soothing game. A little bit Pikmin and Animal crossing in a tiny way too.

I will be playing Auto Modellista on my GameCube this weekend.

I'm finishing up on Suikoden I which has been a great handheld play. I had other life things going on when it originally came out, but I can really feel the continuation from the "Golden Age" titles just prior. I still think there are too many characters wedged in for the number of focus actually given to them, but it does feel so ambitious for the day (like playing Legends of Mana in the context).

With Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter on the horizon, I couldn't help myself with Trails into Reverie going at a 50% discount, for which I'm going to shamelessly disregard my backlog. I was thrilled to get a new crack at the Liberl arc as a prequel, because even if I know the broad outcomes, the real draw for Trails is that peripheral plot bubbling up with all the "small world" goings on.

At least this is the plan until the heat breaks. Summer is the new winter.

Nothing on Switch 2 right now. I completed Sonic x Shadow Generations last month and just impatiently waiting for Metroid Prime 4 now. Might try out Kirby & the Forgotten Land if the reviews of the Switch 2 edition are positive enough.

I played Fantasy Life I PS5 All Day Long again. 🤓

I still working hard to get the materials for raising the jobs rank to Master and a lot of them require very hard to get items.
Getting the Boss crops on my farming plot was really ridiculous hard as they were rarely appeared and I need their loots to craft the required stiffs from crafting jobs to raise the rank to Master.
A lot of homework to do.

I’m going to finish off Pipistrello and the Cursed Yoyo this weekend, what a fantastic little game this turned out to be. As an aside, I would like some help: I read online that there are 13 diamonds to collect, and I have only found 7. I am at the endgame and have scoured the map, and cannot find the last 6 anywhere. Worse, there are absolutely no guides anywhere on the internet as of yet showing where those last diamonds could possibly be (I thought you could find out anything online!?). Anyone found all the diamonds and could point me in the right direction?

The 2 main Switch 2 games, DK Bananza and Mario Kart World. Will make time for Ninja Gaiden Ragebound and I’m thinking of picking up the new Shantae Advance game. Also get in a workout with Fitness Boxing. The Fist of the North Star version.

Hollow Knight as while I technically played at least the start of it way back in 2018, I don't think I got very far and it somehow went by the wayside. So it's almost like a first playthrough. Might as well give it a good shot now Silksong is around the corner.

Otherwise more DK: Bananza, not sure how far through I am exactly but I only just got the Zebra Bananza form.

Just game dev again. Engine rewrite #4!

I decided to refine my Plants vs. Zombies game from tower defense to “support defense”. Instead of killing enemies coming in you help cure them instead. I really like the idea of not killing things.

I’m not actually at a point where I have any gameplay. Part of my rewriting is focusing on making the game responsive. I dabbled in world space position in the last iteration for gameplay elements now I’m applying a relative approach to UI scaling so the game’s UI scales when the screen size changes.

I’ve started working on animations now. That’s a really interesting area. I’m building up my sprite sheets but the concept of making an animation in data will involve 3 objects in code. Firstly the Asset/Image then the Spritesheet which uses the Asset as a property then finally an Animation which uses the Spritesheet to say I want to use these frames at this speed. This way I can reuse spritesheets for multiple animations. It also decouples spritesheet and animation data from an asset.

Once I have animations working I’ll reimplement the world space rendering system and dynamically scale up non-UI elements.

Lots to do. Still loving working on this thing.

After renovating my spare bedroom into a small home library last weekend, I wasn't left with much time to game, or even much energy throughout the week to play much of anything. I did start up Rift of the Necrodancer though, and I'm absolutely loving it so far. I'm not much of a rhythm game person. I have a bit of experience with Guitar Hero, DDR and Thumper recently. But I love how this game feels not only like a rhythm game, but also kind of like a puzzle game. Hitting different kinds of enemies can send them in different directions on the fret, and it can be super satisfying to pull off the right chains to the beat. I also got the Pizza Tower and Celeste DLCs. My favourite song to play is, "It's Pizza Time"!

I also may play a bit more Cato: Buttered Cat. I like it, but its now become more of a side game, because those puzzles get so brain-bending, that i can only play a few stages at a time before feeling fizzled out.

I'll probably play more Star-Crossed Myth: Department of Punishments. I haven't really had time to play it in a while and I'm aiming to finish a route (Scorpio) this weekend.

The Sonic Racing CrossWorlds news earlier on in the week made me decide to return to Sonic X Shadow Generations. Also may return to MK8 Deluxe.

I know that my focus next weekend will be the Sonic Racing CrossWorlds open network test so not starting a new single player game this weekend.

This weekend I’m not playing anything. My wife and I surprised our daughter with her first ever tickets to a concert in Chicago, so that’s where we will be for the next couple of days. It will be our first time there, so we are going to do all of the touristy things. To say I’m excited to finally try Chicago deep dish pizza for the first time is an understatement.

However, throughout the week I decided to start a fresh playthrough in Baldur’s Gate 3. I’ve done this twice - both times reaching the end of Act 2, but getting fatigued and putting the game down for a long while. It’s truly a special game, but I have a tendency to implement the same style of play each time - a high elf, rogue assassin that focuses on stealth and archery. I do this with The Elder Scrolls, too.

This time I’m making a devoted effort to play in different ways. For starters, I’m a Dwarf with the subclass of Paladin. Secondly, I have a terrible habit of save scumming and being a good guy. While I will still be good, I’m going to choose dialogue options that are appropriate rather than solely choosing the “right” response, and whatever the dice rolls I am going to allow myself to accept the decision, good or bad. And lastly, I’m going to try new character abilities during combat. I generally play it safe and focus on raw strength and advantages rather than coming up with unique methods to approach combat, or not at all.

So far, my experimentation has turned out quite well. Who knew using magic was so fun? I’m throughly enjoying how I approach every situation and living with the results. Moreover, by doing so, I’m discovering unexpected side quests that I never found in my first two endeavors, and branching narratives that I can tell will have an impact later on. I’m really curious to see how things evolve.

The one thing that will never change: romancing Shadowheart. That will remain a constant until Gale decides to end us all with an explosion of jealousy and addiction. And on an unrelated side note - I’m praying for a Nintendo Switch 2 port because I’ll be doing a lot of traveling this upcoming year and it would be the perfect companion piece.

im gonna be busy with some friends this weekend, but i think im going to finish the very very last challenge in Donkey Kong Bananza to get 100% 😺 its very rare for me to target 100% in a game so im kinda proud of myself! also will work on a Mario Maker 2 World, unlock Bowser in Super Mario Strikers, and begin playing a title ive been wanting to forever-The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker

I’m a good 5 hours in to Dragon Quest XI S.

I'm finally at the last boss on Lunar 2 (Switch - Lunar Remastered Collection. Both of the included games are awesome if you haven't gotten the chance to play them.

My kids have been playing Dragon Ball FighterZ and Zelda: Breath of the Wild (both Switch). We've also still been playing lots of Super Mario Kart (SNES) and 3-player Secret of Mana (Switch - Collection of Mana).

Taken the Switch on holiday again, will probably be playing some more Minecraft with the kids. Also packed the Playdate, hoping to continue playing Ratcheteer which is a great game in old school Zelda vein. Happy gaming weekend all!

Probably going to be a light gaming weekend, with home projects/repairs and studying to retain national credentials for my job taking precedent.

If I can whittle those down, Bananza will be my go to. I did recently start a file on Castlevania Portrait of Ruin on the Dominus Collection too, so I could hop on there for a few too.

I ended up starting Pikmin 4 recently. I’ll probably stick with that until Silksong comes out at which point I will be dropping everything and playing it.

I had started Nier Automata around a month ago on Switch 1 and was enjoying it until I hit a part that really bugged me where there was a save point in the middle of a mission that I reflexively used and then got stuck without restorative items right before a boss. According to the web, there is supposed to be a vendor nearby too but they made him killable and I think he probably got caught in the crossfire. I’d gladly redo the mission from the beginning and try to get better, but I think my only options are to get really good and beat the boss with no items or lower the difficulty and essentially put it on autopilot to get through the boss. Unfortunately that choice has put me off of the game. Hopefully I will get back to it at some point.

Ha ha! It is pretty lush. And that Robocop music is still awesome!

destiny 1- I've pretty much done all I can in destiny 2's current season so im going to go play the first game.

I'll try to get further into Donkey Kong Bananza. With my gaming time being all over the place and my weekends get busier with life stuff this game is taking me forever. I love it but there's so much to do and can be overwhelming that when I do get time to play I feel like I'm not making much progress. I'm sorta in a torn state. I want to start a backlog game on the side but I believe with my limited gaming time lately doing that will push back completion of Bananza even further back. Debating if I should just main Bananza so I can finish it up whenever that is. We'll see what I do.

Made it to Poni Island. I've also been revisiting earlier islands in search of Pokémon I'd missed. Encountered shiny Mareep while looking for a Miltank. It's Ampharos now.

Playing this game has reignited my love for Pokémon. Alola is really well designed region, one of my favorites. It also introduced bunch of awesome Pokémon that really fit the theme.

Taking a small break from UFO 50. Might play some GC games now that Chibi-Robo is out. My nephew discovered Super Mario Strikers while browsing my games. He likes it and would like to play the other stages as well so I'll try to unlock them before we next meet.

I was off yesterday, so my weekend is already well in progress. I began with a little Mario Golf Super Rush and the victorious completion of my run as the Netherlands in Civ VI. This was one of my favorite runs ever and also one of my best, as I'm overtaking another difficulty level.

We're going on a day trip for the Spearess' birthday today. That will give me time to gameplan the next Civ run. Tomorrow will likely be Civ and ... who knows, perhaps I'll start another game.

Tetris Effect: Connected - Another ritual event, plus I like Tetris.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons - I'll try to see if there's any bugs I haven't caught yet. If not, and when I get burnt out from that, I'll play the DLC.

I'll be beating the absolutely stunning Sword of the Sea, the new game by Giant Squid, the makers of Abzu and Pathless. Thanks to the unparalleled art and another beautiful score by Austin Wintory, it has filled me with all manner of emotions--but mostly awe.

Still continuing our Baldur's Gate 3 playthrough, and getting up to more trouble than we know what to do with.

I'd like to wrap up DK Bananza before my early September trips, too, but that might be too ambitious.

I been playing donkey Kong country 2 on my wii-U classic game hard old school game not really a fan of the dark theme but one of the greatest sound tracks ever also I try the demo of nikoderiko the magic world on my ps5 David wise bloody legend with the soundtrack game plays like DK trilogy DK returns tropical freeze crash Bandicoot I'm just a sucker for platforms games I will definitely buy it for sure happy gaming everyone from Sydney Australia 💚💚💚🦕🎮🕹️

I am honestly not certain if I'll be playing very many games this weekend. I haven't really been on a gaming kick lately. If anything, I might play Fire Emblem: Three Houses. As always, happy gaming everyone!

Got to get some major gaming in since next week I will be busy with some traveling. Played a lot of the Daemon X Machina demo. I like it so far story wise. Gameplay is fun too but I wish the weapons was done better. They sound and look like they have no impact on enemies. Just like the first game. The visuals look amazing in certain places but I have noticed a frame drop here and there when going to new areas unfortunately. It’s not too bad though. Playing the usual other then that below:

Xenoblade chronicles X - on chapter 9 still. Not much progress has been made.

Donkey Kong bananza - still on sublayer 300. Havent made any progress recently.

Fire emblem sacred stones on NSO - on chapter 13 now.

Zero time dilemma on 3DS - ugh. Need to do this game.

I've done almost everything there is to do in Breath of the Wild. All that remains is the Trial of the Sword. I'm not going to do that just yet, as I want to study up on it, and I'll most likely be playing it during the week after work. Until then, I'll probably try getting all the amiibo exclusive weapons.

I’m in Japan, baby! Been here a week now and loving it, despite the heat. Spent a small fortune on amiibos, game soundtracks on CDs, Ghibli paraphernalia etc. Also bought DK Banaza today on a whim - only £33!! (6600 yen). But I won’t be playing it for a while as I didn’t bring my Switch 2. Instead I bought my 3DS, although I’ve barely had time to play that either. When I have been playing it has been Virtue’s Last Reward which I purchased in the final 3DS e shop sale. Quite liking it, and it suits the Japan vibe very well.

Also got to go to the Nintendo bit at Universal which was very cool (not literally - it was sweltering). All in all having a fantastic time in the home of Nintendo

Had an extended session on Rayman Legends last night. Got all the teensies a while ago, but some friends were over who had been using the game to introduce their young kids to gaming, so we all took turns playing that. Good times! Otherwise, a bit more on Horizon Zero Dawn on the PS5.

Giving Hollow Knight another go as I always bounce off early. Still not immediately loving it but this time am using a guide because the punishment for getting lost and dying early in the game is way too high. Hopefully if I make it far enough to get more items it will grab me

Well it’s a bit of a busy weekend, but I’ll try my best to squeeze in some more UFO 50 (I’ve been playing the Camouflage lizard game mainly) and try out that Daemon X Machina: Titanic Scion demo that came out this week. Did they say your progress carries over to the full game??

going to be playing some Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate with a friend and also some DnD on Sunday. Enjoying this last weekend I have before summer vacation ends and I have to do my job of dealing with kids again.

I've been manly going back to older games as to try and beat them, so i'll be focusing on playing Timesplitters: Future Perfect Super Smash Bros. Melee and Lego Star Wars 2 on Gamecube.

Hey folks! This weekend starts off a weeklong work vacation, and next weekend is a long weekend in the US. I'm leaving early this afternoon for a concert and expect to return home in the wee morning hours. I'll then prepare for my Tuesday vacation departure. I'll be gone through next weekend, so I don't expect to post in this lovely weekly feature, but rest assured I will be putting ample time into Driving Simulator: IRL Edition (less fun) and Rollercoaster Tycoon: Live Participant Edition (Much better!). I will participate in the Rookidee Community Day in Pokemon Go on Saturday. I will take my Switch along but don't really expect to commit to any games.

In the meantime, I'm wrapping up my current games. I'm in the final dungeon of Ys IX: Monstrum Nox after completing all available side quests and nabbing all collectibles. I love this game almost as much as Ys VIII, but I will admit performance on Switch does take some noticeable dives in the late game. I also beat Mario & Luigi: Dream Team the other day. Dreamy Bowser was hard and cheap when it came to healing IMO; definitely the hardest final boss in the series to date, with Elder Princess Shroob from Partners In Time taking second place. Dream Team is a good game and has some high notes and fun mechanics, but it does enough to irritate me (Padding and my dislike of giant battles due to how slow they are and excessive touch screen use) that I'll likely never play it again.

If the Monster Hunter Stories 2 NSO trial comes to North America, I'll likely try out the game since I've had some interest for awhile. I quite liked Monster Hunter Stories on 3DS, though that was largely due to its world and mechanics. Less so the plot and characters.

I bought the first Mario vs Rabbids on one of its frequent sales, and I love it. It is extremely charming and surprisingly difficult. I am probably going to try to get gold on every mission including DLC.

I'm playing Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake on the Nintendo Switch 2. Thanks to the update I'm using Performance mode to play the game at a smooth 60fps. I switched back and forth between Graphics and Performance, and found the higher framerate more pleasing than a slightly better image quality. So far I have defeated Robbin' 'Ood and my party members currently consists of a Warrior, Thief, and a Mage.

got my first 480 points in mk world vs. mode. 150cc, frantic items, hard cpus, 32 random tracks, no rewinds. gonna try mirror mode next.

College is about to start, and also that Kirby DLC is coming out soon, soooo... nothing this time!

I finished Aria of Sorrow, and man, it was fantastic! It's the first Castlevania game I have beat if you don't count me using the rewind function countless times to beat Legends on NSO 😅.
Now I'm working on Circle of the Moon. They weren't wrong about how difficult this game is. I'm currently stuck on the fourth boss. It's still a fun game though, and I really enjoy the DSS mechanic.

So I actually finally reached the Heavensward expansion in Final Fantasy XIV. Oh my gosh, everyone was right. The game picked up IMMENSELY in the last set of post-game quests for ARR. I might take a short break before diving fully into Heavensward so that I don't burn myself out on FF14.

In addition, a few days ago I started Elden Ring. Admittedly, I never played this game sooner because I always heard how tough the Souls games are. I'm about an hour in now, and I can't wait to play more so I can see what the hype is all about.

going to start up my switch 2 today to play donkey kong bananza and go back fourth between that and gal guardians 2.

I have tried a few of the upcoming games at Gamescom (metroid and silksong for example) and now that I am still not home I am playing Monster hunter stories which I have to say is a fair bit worse than its sequel (which I consider a switch hidden gem and everyone should play it on trial right now!)

@DwaynesGames Thanks! :0) Have to say I have not actually been doing that, but will do now! I did manage to clear that bit today and have made much more progress now. My only real complaint about the game is the speed characters talk at. The text appears so slowly. Some of the cut scenes take ages when they have a lot to say. Still, super game though.

Sonic Colors Ultimate - Going for 100%. Just have Aquarium Park and Asteroid Coaster left.

Oblivion Remastered - Recently started this game. Exploring the open world a little and Arena battles to level up and get some gold. Never played an Elder Scrolls game before and so far it’s pretty enjoyable.

Today's my birthday, but I don't think I'll do anything special or play anything in particular other than maybe finally do the Pokémon League of Pokémon Black, which I'm not ready for (first time in my mainline Pokémon playthroughs where I'm not ready for the League).

Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes was one of those games said to have lots of performance and stability issues on Switch, but I'm enjoying it issue-free on Switch 2 now!

I've given up on Shadow Labyrinth for now after getting my rear end handed to me one too many times by a particularly frustrating boss. Instead I'm finally heading back to Hisui to complete the Pokedex in Legends: Arceus, which is considerably more relaxing despite the occasional giant angry Infernape.

I’ve been playing through Castlevania SOTN on PS5 and really enjoying it, never played it back in the day. Just a really stylish and well-designed game, and cool to experience the inspiration for so many games today. On Switch I’ve been waiting impatiently for UFO 50 to launch in New Zealand, still no sign of it… Recently wrapped Hollow Knight and Axiom Verge and picked up Islets on a sale but not far into it yet. Hasn’t quite grabbed me yet but I will give it some more time. My wife has inherited my original Switch and she’s been glued to Picross and Balatro.

Rolled credits on Bananza awhile back and wondering if it’s worth going back for more banandium gems.

Bloodborne (PS4): Explored a few Chalice Dungeons; defeated Yharnam Pthumerian Queen and got the trophy.

Fatal Fury City of the Wolves (PS5): Completed Arcade mode with Ken and got the trophy (Complete Arcade with 15 characters).

Witch on the Holy Night (Switch): Chapter 1 completed, Chapters 1.5 and 2 unlocked.

On Case 11 in Layton's Mystery Journey, probably the last or second to last case in this.... interesting game. I'll be starting a new job next week, so hopefully I can finish this game soon.

Did the new daemon x machina demo just shadow dropped? I booted my NS2 and saw that it had a demo. The gameplay is amazing!

I’m heading back to Hyrule to do a new play through of Breath of the Wild in 4K. I’ll also be throwing some Hadokens in SF6 and maybe even get around to killing Mirrak again.

Between working on house renovations I'm going to be playing Octopath Traveler, currently completed the first chapters of three characters, I've started with Olberic. After playing Live A Live during break times at work and loving the art style, I thought I'd give it a go.
Also going to be out walking for a bit, so I'll be catching a few Pokémon in Pokémon Go.

I'm currently playing Mario Party DS at this moment, but I would like to play more Lego Battles on the DS. I didn't know it was a game until earlier this year, but it's been pretty fun so far. Might finally play Drawn to Life and/or more Transformers War for Cybertron - Decepticons.

So basically it's a DS weekend!

Tried Metro 2033 Redux and couldn’t stand the intentionally bad controls and visibility (fun!). Warioland 4 was just the right tonic to blur my memory of bad game design.

I'm playing some Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Super Luigi Galaxy.

This will be my first time completing the game with Luigi as I didn't realise you unlock an extra level for completing the game with him.

After beating Raidou Remastered on switch 2 decided to buy Shin Megami Tensai V. Thats what ive been playing this weekend and the game is awesome

@MarioVillager92 Thanks! Regarding both my vacation and Dream Team lol. I'm basically hopping between a couple theme parks for my vacation. I originally wanted to spend an extra day in one area and do other things, but my concert exploits this month made me cut back a little. I didn't really want to go to concerts on back-to-back weekends, but last weekend was more than my decision (including the hotel stay), and I couldn't miss the one I attended last night.

Giant battles ARE slow, especially when you have to go through most of the opening filler again when resetting (some of the "demo" stuff is thankfully skippable after a fail). Plus I'm not a fan of using my touchscreen much due to fear of wear [Insert OG DS nightmare flashbacks]. I had to switch to my OG 3DS from my N3DS XL partway through once I realized how touch-happy the game was. I try to touch as lightly as possible, but sometimes it wouldn't register input. Giant battles also feel very gimmicky and don't rely on the built stats and skills from the game's main battle mode. And the gyro controls on the last two giant battles....I had to read internet tips to get through those sections.

The padding was another issue. The tutorials do get old but weren't as bad as the Internet made them out to be IMO. My main issues were some of the needless dialogue and certain events that would delay progress and make you spend even longer in an area. I took a weeklong break from the game after the Mt. Pajamaja bit since that part seemed to drag on forever.

Those were my two biggest issues. There's plenty I like about the game too, such as: Luigi's character development + others acknowledging he exists as more than "Mario's brother", the fun Bros. and Luiginary attacks, exploring the Dream World (GREAT 3D effect!), most of the Luiginary Works in the Dream World, some returning characters (minus Starlow; she felt out of place), and the excellent music. There are some bright spots regarding the plot too, with some entertaining dialogue and events earlier on, but as it wore on it became less creative overall IMO. Other than a WTH moment during the ending. Antasma turned out to be kind of one note, and it was also way too predictable/meh for Bowser to be the final boss...again.

Sorry, this kind of turned into a mini-review. Believe me, I tried condensing it lol.

@Tyranexx You're welcome. That sounds like a lot of fun! I think you mentioned going on a roller coaster? (I'm still terrified of them, lol.) The concert sounds cool too.

Yeah, I do remember that the touch screen on my original DS got busted, I distinctly remember trying to recalibrate it... but to no avail. Plus the system itself hasn't worked in ages. The padding sounds a lot like the issue I had with Brothership, I didn't like the game because it just dragged on and on and on. It felt way longer than it needed to be. You're good on that review.

Ah yeah and a little update on me playing Animal Crossing: New Horizons. I caught the bugs I wanted to catch this month and took them all to my museum! I just have one left. I just had to move a lot slower than I'm used to so I wouldn't scare them away again.

@MarioVillager92 Try many, MANY rollercoasters. One theme park is on my bucket list; the other I've been to before, but that was when I was a kid. It has changed a lot since then. More on the exact whereabouts sometime after I return. Last night's concert was Linkin Park; I've LOVED their music for ages and am happy they're making music again after the lead front man's death in 2017 understandably brought things to a halt.

My OG phat DS went through a lot of touchscreen abuse from early DS games (mainly Nintendogs and WarioWare: Touched!), as well as how hard the guitar pick stylus was on the screen from the Guitar Hero: On Tour series. So the input was off in some areas. That isn't what ultimately killed the unit, but I'll spare you the tale since I'm sure I've mentioned it before. Hopefully the padding in Brothership doesn't bother me too much since I do intend to play it sometime. 🤞

I'm a bit late due to visiting friends on the other half of the State this weekend, but hello again, y'all! This weekend I played:
Dragon Quest XI S Echoes of an Elusive Age Definitive Edition: made more progress in this game, I just used the Gate of Departure and warped somewhere unfamiliar in the world, both of my party members are Level 14
Super Mario Maker 2: I basically binged through the entire story mode since I had a lot of spare time for gaming while traveling and spending time with friends, also made progress in my next level, which should be out next weekend.
