Review Super Mario Odyssey - A Globe-Trotting Extravaganza You Have To Experience
Odys-sey is what you get
For some gamers the idea of a ‘sandbox’ Mario game is pure retro. Super Mario 64 played a big part in revolutionising gaming, not just 3D platforming, and then Super Mario Sunshine took the idea in some interesting new directions on GameCube. Yet the Wii was a transformative console in taking Nintendo back to the top of...

Workin' the Z-axis
Ah, the 3D platformer. Ever since Super Mario 64 landed and showed everyone just how good three-dimensional platforming could be, there have been developers hoping to capture just a smidgen of that game’s magic. Guide Super Mario Odyssey amiibo Outfit Unlocks
Who does what
The ability to change Mario's outfit in Super Mario Odyssey is one of the many reasons we love this video game to bits. We're not saying we dislike the character's iconic dungarees, you understand - they're timeless, darling - but it's nice to have the option to change things every once in a while. If you couldn't agree more but are...
Guide Best Feel-Good Nintendo Switch Games
I see a ship in the harbour
Blue Monday. No, not just a kick-ass New Order song, but the name coined by marketers for the third Monday in January (or the first, or the second — all January Mondays it seems!), which is purportedly the 'most depressing day of the year'. While the genesis and questionable 'science' behind this dreary moniker is...

Opinion Can We Stop Comparing Donkey Kong Bananza's Tactile Thrills To Odyssey Now?
My favourite one is both
Note. This article contains minor, non-narrative spoilers (specifically, Bananza forms and mid-game layers). Did you know there was a U-turn jump in Bananza? I just realised this morning! He does a roll jump (that can be chained into another air roll) and lands with a sonar splash. I'm not exactly sure how useful it is but...

UK Charts Donkey Kong Bananza Is A Hit, But Sells Less Than Half Of Super Mario Odyssey
Oh, banana!
The latest UK charts data is in, and as expected, Donkey Kong Bananza is a hit, climbing all the way to the top to beat the likes of Mario Kart World, Hogwarts Legacy, and EA Sports FC 25. How well it actually sold, however, is a little bit more difficult to gauge. According to The Game Business' Chris Dring, Bananza sold three times...

This is the best videogame of the past ten years.
First quarantine video game achievement: All 999 moons! I've never beaten a Mario game fully until now.

It was fun at first, with all the cool outfits and the concept of Moon Stars, but then the game got far too hard and boring.
