It might be a bit cheaper by Christmas, but I personally think it's worth it at that price so think I'll order.

However, I can't be alone in feeling like watching the Super Mario Galaxy Movie hype followed by the Galaxy 1+2 reveal really made me hope for an amazing Galaxy 3 reveal trailer! That would have been so fun, and I felt pretty disappointed that the 40th anniversary coverage and the Galaxy theme did not coincide with a grand Galaxy 3 reveal.

You got it right just there there. You actually illustrate how subjective it all is.

I have no interest in what value is attached to the GOW, Mass Effect or Tony Hawk packs are as I don’t want to play them. They could be the greatest remasters ever, they have zero value to me. The Crash remasters are of such high value to me I have them on PlayStation and Switch. Buying it twice would have seemed like lunacy to some but I find value in the portable option. You are totally entitled to think differently on all of this.

Halo is a great collection and I’ve got hours out of it. However to me it is irrelevant to whether I want to buy Mario Galaxy or anything else. So is my perception of how much work has gone into them. Whether I purchase something is entirely down to whether I think I will get value of it. Nothing else.

In the case of Galaxy I want them on Switch because being able to play them without waggling a Wiimote is-to me-an absolute joy. I was just going to get the digital but then I caught the physical option from a UK retailer at £43. With already having Mario 64 in various places and Sunshine on a modded GameCube I got for Christmas last year I’ll probably sell my physical copy of Mario 3D All Stars. See how subjective each decision is?

You and everyone else will have a totally different mental flowchart to follow. As a side issue, that’s the same with my friends who buy massively expensive sports cars/watches/trainers/handbags/collectors figures that I wouldn’t touch with a barge pole.

If you choose not to buy it I 100% support you. It would be extremely arrogant of me to judge you for that decision (not saying you’ve judged anyone else BTW, that’s an issue with others) and attempting to apply any other criteria to how you spend your money would be an exercise in total futility for me. I can’t think of a bigger waste of my time.

these Galaxy releases have more work put into them than, let’s say, Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD (and are 20$ cheaper) but Nintendo’s communication failed to show that.

If value is completely subjective…

please explain how you access value other than directly comparing something to the equivalent competition?

It’s just a big coincidence that PlayStation 5 and Xbox series X are essentially the same price where I am. 599 vs 579.

Maybe there is no direct comparison to Mario but this is the competitions remakes in two or three packs and I think there’s considerably more done than ai upscaling. Maybe that’s subjective too.

Anyways everyone can make their own decisions but I’m can’t help but think most people see a growing difference in what you are getting for the same dollar versus at other video game companies.

To be clear this game will sell because Mario, video games biggest mascot, is attached to it. That doesn’t automatically mean there is any price Nintendo can charge for it whatever they want without customers raising their eyebrows and keeping their wallets in their pants.

I agree it’s too expensive, I am also a fanboy (like yourself, or you wouldn’t be on this site so regularly), im just tired of entitled gamers like you thinking people can’t have an alternative opinion to yours without being dubbed a fanboy or just being told their wrong so bluntly.

Gaming is luxury. Things cost money. In 99% of cases, companies will always try and extract as much as they can of they know they have something valuable, like this IP. I get why some people are happy to pay. I am not.

You need a reality check if you think the vocal minority on this site are the ones that are “creating a monster” or even on the other end rejecting how much it costs. Nintendo prices this on the mass market and they know it’s probably going to sell very well or they wouldnt do it. I wish they didn’t, but that is the truth.

I have no issue with your actual point, just please consider that other people deserve respect if they have a differing opinion to yours.

He doesn't really seem to have a clue. The banding issue for instance affected gameplay and we've yet to see a comparison that shows it clearly evident in All-Stars and rectified in the latest release. And frankly most of the time it wasn't even noticeable.
