@Wewewi Same here. The only other reason I play these days is because one of my kids is train obsessed and likes having a tour of the game world by hopping onto the back of the in-game train for a full circuit of its route! Other than that, its just got a bit boring and I wish I’d kept my copy of MK8. Ah well. Hopefully it’ll get the expansion treatment sooner rather than later.

I run the game once a week to collect my NSO silver coins but that's about all the use I've been getting out of it since launch week +1.

Everyone is moaning about the price. But let's be honest. 95% of owners got it in the switch 2 package for less than half the price.

Thx for that! I rarely play with friends, but when I do, MKW is as fun as MK8. Unfortunately my friends and I don't meet that often, so I'd play online if it wasn't like I described with the intermissions.

@AngryLuigi My spouse and I have been using VS mode to do a heat/cup of races a la MK8D where you can choose any track for each new 'leg' (since you can set how many you want ahead of time) and you can do your standard multi-lap race for each one, no intermissions to be seen (if so desired) (since you can also choose those from each track).

I have been a Mario Kart fan since the SNES days. Every major Mario Kart on every Nintendo platform was THE go to title for multiplayer ad some quick fun. I played even the not-so-good MK7 on a weekly basis. But Mario Kart World is actually ... boring?

I played all the main cups and all knock out tour cops for 3 stars. I completed many assignments in the open world. And, as a huge player of MK games, I feel bored for the first time in a MK game in my entire life. MKW has nothing that brings me back to it.

I have two main gripes that hold me back to play the game:

Online? No, thanks. I hate the intermissions. They are boring and you can't do nearly anything non-item related to propel yourself forward compared to the regular tracks. Why force the players to play the intermissions? Why not let them have the freedom to play how they want? MK8D got that completely right with its many modes and over 90 tracks!
Value vs content: For a 80 Euro title MKW feels barebones. The tracks are greatly designed, but why the hell are there only 30 of them?! I paid so much money for the game, yet there are so few tracks! That is just bonkers when you think about how many time they had to develop this Mario Kart and how many tracks MK8 delivered.

It's just a poor value overall. I didn't think Nintendo would underdeliver this much. I don't like the direction this company takes at the moment - and I had every Nintendo major home and handheld console since the NES and the original Game Boy. come on, Nin, you can do better than that! I know the game has potential, so do sth and make the game more worthwile!

The game has potential to be better and understand some of the negative critic, but for me its a great game that has made me forget mk8 when i got used to the new style. Nintendo has taken this game into a whole new direction, and didnt Expect it to be «perfect» when its a new baby. MK World is a solid foundation to build upon, and will most likely also Get solid updates in the future. Gonna keep on enjoy MK World and im excited for MK World «2» etc in the future

The Battle Modes stages are really too big and not filled with nearly enough coins for Coin Battle and you can go so long without hitting another player during Balloon Battle. They need way more stages, too.

Also, during local 2-player Knockout Tour, for the love, if one gets knocked out, let the remaining player have the full screen!

Why is there a pop-up showing you how many Plates you've run over/completed for each zone on the map, but not for P-switches or Medallions? Also, let me tag P-switches on the map so I can come back to them later easily! It's so half-baked!!

Completely Random Kamek Character Unlocking was the dumbest idea.

Saving a custom sequence under VS would be SO APPRECIATED.

The game feels really incomplete, especially considering the price tag. Here's what I'd love to see in a free update:

-- Online --

Be able to choose circuits instead of straight roads.
Allow for random itineraries in Knockout tour.

-- Free roam --

Collectible counter for each region in free roam.
Get better rewards for free roam (like artworks, costume colours, vehicle colors, emotes).
Enable 2P free roam mode.
Encounter and race other online players in free roam mode.

-- Battle mode --

Smaller arenas so that you spend less time searching and more time battling.

-- General --

Make it easier to unlock NPC characters.
Control the volume of music and sfx separately (for music lovers).
Bring back Stats page.

I mean, I am glad they are doing SOMETHING, but i am still absolutely mindblown that we haven't gotten any DLC announcements yet. I will definitely play in a US tournament if there is one - I stink at the game, but it's fun!

As one of the only people who love the game, and this is as a Mario Kart fan since the SNES, the hate toward the game hurts me immensely.
I understand why people would be turned off by the recent online changes, however, whenever I get online, I get full circuits all the time, especially now. It's been perfectly fine and a good balance of full circuits and highway chaos.
There was a time after the first update that it wasn't as consistent, but that changed back pretty fast.

I can't wait for the first American tournament! I'll be happy to play this game for the next however long Nintendo keeps it around.

I have the game and don't hate it, but as time passes I find it more and more difficult to care about this game. I was going to comment this hours ago but didn't want the first comment to be me saying I don't care about the game. It's early days for Switch 2 and great games are coming.

Well… I went back to MK8 because Mario Kart World is giving me overpriced bland game energy. Those forced rides on straight soulless lanes… Ew…

I’ll just enjoy MK8 while I still can… before Nintendo shuts the servers down to push us into Mario Kart World and nothing else. The same way they refuse to let us choose to play looped tracks online…

I really need to replay this game and learn those tracks. It's pretty great but DK, Star Wars and Cyberpunk have eaten up my free time.

Instead of tournaments, Nintendo should work on adding content to complete the unfinished 80 dollar game. Except maybe we don't want that because they'd charge 40$ for a kart and new stickers.
