For me Gen V was the best. I love a lot of the designs. The Pokemon were finally animated in battle too. I personally think Black and White are the only Pokemon games that have a good story. The other games had awful stories and you just play them to collect and then battle the Mon. Black and White's story was moralistic and quite thought provoking and by far N was the best villain of any game. Some Pokemon not used competitively got hidden abilities which made them usable. The legenderies were great too and some of the Pokemon have cool menacing designs such as Kyurem, Zekrom, Conkeldurr, Genesect and the Therian forms of the flying legenderies. I loved how these games had post gane content and so many new legenderies and event mon to catch. I really hope they do the quality remake there games deserve, and not the abysmal cheaply made cash grab of the DP remake. The story is not suited to those awful graphics.

me personally? yeah lets give them the ORAS treatment. BDSP was awful and HGSS will always be the peak of game freak so ORAS is the middle. But honestly i would wather the legends side game to keep exploring the history of the regions even if people complain about continuity. show me galars darkest day and unovas "original dragon"

I really don't think we'll ever reach the peaks of the DS era for Pokemon
Heartgold/Soulsilver, Pokemon Platinum, Pokemon Conquest, Explorers Of Sky, Pokemon Ranger Series and of course Black and White.

Absolutely insane to look at Pokemon now compared to back then.

I would love a proper BW remake, but first I'd need a proper DP remake, just to be sure they can do remakes right again.
Clearly I'm a big BW fan (see profile avatar). If the remakes can't be given the effort they deserve, then I'd prefer genuine drag n drop ports. Retro Pokemon collections, please.

@Dee123 Makes me all the more glad when I found a CIB second-hand copy of Black 1 in 2017 for 30 Mexican Pesos (about $1.50) in a store that at the same time also had White 1 for 500 pesos ($25). Even the employees were perplexed the system was pricing Black 1 so low.

A remake would be cool if done right but they haven't been doing them right such as BDSP so yea... Not to mention that part of what made B&W so good was the neat use of 2.5D for the graphics of the game. It'd basically lose that charm being fully 3d now unless they make some kind of HD2D remake like Squares doing

I was so excited for these games that I imported White from Japan because I didn't want to wait. They were such a breath of fresh air. I'm a creature of habit and when given the opportunity, I will always opt for old favourites instead of trying out new monsters. Couldn't do that here, and it was so much fun experimenting and finding new favourites. The story was great, the music was great, it was all so great.

If they were to remake them, I'd like them to do Black 1+2 and White 1+2. Kind of like a whole continuous story with a timeskip (access to Black 2/White 2) as soon as you beat Ghetsis in Part 1 and where your decisions made in Part 1 are reflected in Part 2.

If possible, I'd also like a Legends game that explores the foundation of Unova and the events that led the full dragon Kyurem was along with Reshiram and Zekrom to be spliced.

I'd only want to return to Unova if it's more BW2 than BW1. BW1 is horribly overrated, it was the true beginning of the philosophy shift people hated from the 3DS games, it shoved new Pokemon down your throat yet made many of them Kanto expies, and was generally a step backwards for the series in every way except story (and even then the only thing REALLY good about the story is that it didn't end the same way as past game, there's still some issues with the story). Get that trash out of my sight, I never want to play it again. If I ever get the mood to go through Unova again, it'll be through a far more expansive take on Unova like BW2 which has far more Pokemon to catch, areas to explore, and sidequests to complete.

I'm pretty, "Eh, they're alright," on Black & White 1, but the sequels are the only games that can compete with HGSS for being the best in the series in my mind.

I’d rather see them spend energy on new games and preserve the old rather than change it for a new audience. It’s a lose - lose with remakes.

The original was 2D style from NDS.
