Don't want to keep using the Switch 2 Direct Thread for general Switch 2 discussion, and since nobody else has created a general Switch 2 discussion thread, I am.
The leaker who told us about Metroid Dread, Mario & Luigi and a number of other accurate predictions just posted that Indiana Jones, Ninja Gaiden 4, DOOM The Dark Ages and Hellblade 2 are coming to Switch 2. Listed quite a few others too, I just can't remember which ones.

Yeah, I do expect the Switch 2 will receive a lot of recent 3rd party games. So I can see stuff like Indiana Jones, Ninja Gaiden 4, etc showing up.
Kind of a bit pessimistic that the pricing and economy stuff may take the wind out of their sails. Which would be unfortunate since they built so much momentum from the Switch 1
Im down for Indiana Jones too. And DOOM The Dark Ages.
Oh! Call of Duty 6. That was another they listed. I'm definitely down for that. At least now if devs don't include gyro I can still count on them including mouse aiming. The console FPS will be best played on Switch 2. Gyro aiming. Mouse aiming. Handheld play. Tabletop play. TV play. What more could you possibly want?
Think we're gonna see the majority of 3rd party games hitting Switch 2. Strap in and prepare your wallets. They're about to get ravaged over the next decade lol

Yeah, anything that was made available on PS4, PS5, XBone, XSS / XSX now has a good chance of coming to Switch 2. And the list isn't a short one. The only game I would doubt forever and always would be The Last of Us Part II. Because uh...video game characters get hot and sweaty in that one. Nintendo game submission guideline no bueno.
Gravity Rush though? Sure why not. Honestly, I wouldn't be shocked if Gravity Rush sold better on Switch 2, lol.
This video made me feel more interested in the mouse mode for the Switch 2. Sounds like it works well and feels nice to use. Honestly, the Switch 2 sounds like it'll have so many nice features to it, that it's genuinely exciting to see. Games like Splatoon could work so nicely on it
@-Green-
Splatoon with mouse aiming is going to be revolutionary. Gyro is fantastic, dont get me wrong. But mouse aiming is gonna take it to a whole new level.
Practically everyone who's tried mouse mode has come away impressed with how well it works and how accurate it is. And while I do prefer the convenience of gyro working anywhere, mouse mode will be compatible for virtually every game with aiming. So even if devs don't include gyro in CoD or Halo, we at least have mouse mode to fall back on. And by including mouse mode, it only increases the chance they'll go ahead and add gyro aiming too.
@Magician
I'm not expecting any of Sony's big AAA games but their older, smaller ones... possibly. Gravity Rush would do well though.

Hah, I wondered who would eventually either make a new thread like this or rename an old one. Let's see of it sticks.
We pretty much have known Microsoft is going to have a bunch of ports coming to Switch 2. Heck, they're legally obligated to bring Call of Duty. I suspect the third party flood which started during the direct will continue very strong for the next couple years as lots of major ports mix in with new games.
@FishyS
Its actually bordering on too many 3rd party games.
I see now why Nintendo is holding off on sending dev kits to smaller indies until launch. A carefully curated lineup of top shelf core games doesn't get diluted by shovelware. And if there were any more big 3rd party games they'd start cannabilizing each other. Heck they may already have crossed that threshold. Even I can't afford everything day one and I'm a chronic spender.
How bout that Daemon X Machina: Titanic Scion though? That game looks 🔥 🔥 🔥 They really upped the budget. Cutscenes are fantastic, voice acting is actually respectable and gameplay, oh my gosh the gameplay. Muchos awesome!
Thats actually my most anticipated game. More than Mario Kart. More than Donkey Kong. More than... well, not more than Metroid Prime 4. So ok. It's my 2nd most anticipated game. But still.

I think games cannibalizing from each other is definitely a big risk. I assume the devs like Square Enix and Microsoft who have multiple big games to port will purposefully string them out somewhat slowly. The problem fundamentally is that Switch 2 has an entire generation of major games which could be ported to it comparatively easily now and/or could get improved versions to a sub-par Switch port. Once all the devs have had kits for awhile, it's going to get crazy.
Out of the third-party options we've seen so far, which would you say you're looking forward to the most?
I realize that question wasn't for me, but now that we are in a general Switch 2 thread we are allowed to talk about whatever we want so I will answer anyways 😆
Personally I'm looking forward most to FF7 Remake of what has been announced. Balder's Gate 3 hasn't been announced yet but I'm expecting it and interested in that one. I'm also hoping Switch 2 gets some of the big F2P RPGs that Switch didn't because of storage or power issues (perhaps Genshin though Infinity Nikki is the one I really want).
Just had a thought: I wonder if Xbox is planning Switch 2 versions of Age of Mythology Retold and AoE II Definitive Edition... with mouse controls. Would be absolutely perfect.
And maybe collaborate with Moon Studios for Switch 2 versions of both Ori games with 4K HDR support and 120 fps support. Might as well bring them to PlayStation too.
1) Daemon X Machina: Titanic Scion 2) Final Fantasy VII Remake 3) Cyberpunk 2077 4) Elden Ring 5) Fast Fusion 6) Street Fighter 6 7) Hogwarts Legacy 8) Marvel Cosmic Invasion 9) Hades II 10) Wild Hearts S
I would also appreciate AC Origins as the Egyption setting interests me. But we do have
AC2
AC Brotherhood
AC Revelation
AC3
AC3 Liberation
AC4 Black Flag
AC Rogue
All of which look good and run well. And I really like the older classics. All of them are good. Even AC3 which usually gets dunked on.
Baldur's Gate 3 will be so good on Switch with mouse support (as will DOOM: The Dark Ages). I may scoop Civ 7 too just for the mouse mode. Even with lightning fast storage, the load times will still be hefty late game, but certainly not 2-5 minutes like Civ 6 on Switch.

@FishyS Microsoft doesn't seem to have an issue releasing Age of Empires 2, Forza Horizon 5, Indiana Jones, DOOM The Dark Ages (and potentially also an Oblivion remake) all in the space of a month on PS5. Perhaps Nintendo's 1st party lineup complicates things though like Mario Kart World looks pretty much like Forza Horizon: Mario Edition meanwhile Prime 4 would clash with Halo.
one important point to note is that people are gonna be able to adjust mouse sensitivity based on what they want to do in the settings on a system level. So it's the type of thing where if you're feeling like, "Oh, I wanna play on my legs, but I'm not getting enough runway on here," you're gonna be able to adjust that sensitivity so that smaller motions could work or that larger motions can work on a system level
It just keeps getting better and better

At 600+ physical Switch games, I was hardcore into collecting physical. I also have a full shelf for Wii U, another for GameCube + Wii, another for 3DS and one for DS.
But I'm all digital with Switch 2. I just can't anymore. It's too expensive buying digital + physical, and I'm out of room. And frankly nobody cares anyways. Not like I have a single person to show them to who appreciates it. And they just sit there, so ya. I'm done.
I like my Switch collection but, it's a wrap for me going forward. I buy everything digital anyways so they never even get used. Tbh I see Daemon X Machina and all on cart and I'd be lying if I said I wasn't tempted. I WILL be getting Cyberpunk 2077 physically because the cart slot is free storage that doesn't need to be eating up space on the mSD Express. That's an extra 60gb on top of the 256gb storage and 1tb mSD Express. It'll remain in the slot permanently. But aside from that, eh. It's just that time to make the switch.

3rd party is where my focus (and hope) is gonna be this gen. Series S is going to keep multiplat games more accessible for Switch 2 and that (in my home anyway) means to pull sales away from Sony and MS. This has the potential to pull a GameCube (or better) like support coverage and as a person that prefers Nintendo that excites me more than the switch 2 itself. I am already searching for news on how digital games can be purchases by Switch only owners as I will likely pad my library out with sales and support games from the start. Can’t wait to buy SF6 even though I won’t have an S2 to play it on (I have it on series x already).
Looking forward to call of duty and gta announcements. Third parties that will build momentum.

It feels sorta like people are over-reacting to the Joycon 2 not having Hall-effect. Even without it, I'm sure it doesn't mean that the Switch 2 is stuck with drift like the Switch 1. Nintendo has confirmed they basically reconstructed the internals of the thing outright- and they possibly came up with their own solution for stick drift. Heck, the later models of Switch 1 didn't have as many issues with drift as the earlier joycons did.
I would wait and see when the console comes out before jumping to conclusions about the stick drift.
"It is fate. Many have tried, yet none have ever managed to escape it's flow."
Drift cost Nintendo millions of dollars in replacements, parts, labor and shipping for repairs. Not to mention the brand damage. Anyone who thinks that wasn't a top priority designing Switch 2 simply hasn't thought it through.
They even considered per game configurations, mouse sensitivities on a system level, eliminating eShop lag, rear buttons and VRR. I'm pretty sure they considered the NUMBER ONE ISSUE with Switch, ya know?
They've always been coy about discussing drift. When they say "we redesigned the joycon ground up with durability in mind", and we see it's using new sticks (HALL Effect or not), that's their way of saying "OF COURSE we addressed drift- our boss would have fired us if we didn't"

Did any UK peeps get the invitation from Nintendo to pre-order? I followed the link, entered my email and then it says they sent me a verification code but that was 10mins ago with nothing being inbox/spam folder.
