Japanese Charts: Everybody's Golf: Hot Shots Scores An Eagle Despite Mixed Reception

Live the series. But after teh reviews i bought its competitor easy come easy golf. That has a great 60fps uodate and is a greet game.

Yeah! The Mario Kart World cannot be stopped! I'm surprised bout DK Bananza though, kinda concerned.

Wow for once the PS5 finally beat the Switch even in combined numbers of units sold. Good job. It's too bad Metal Gear Solid Delta is awful and just an old game with nothing new. If you already got the game on the Metal Gear Solid - Master Collection: Volume 1 then you aren't missing anything.

@ParrakerriRush 3D Mario doesn't do that well in Japan either if I remember right. It definitely deserves to be over 1 million by now though.

So Switch 2 is nearly at just 3 million sales behind PS5 lifetime sales in Japan? After 4 months. Thats insane

After some rocky reviews I’ve removed everyone golf from my purchase list until I have chance to play a demo.

So, looks like even the Japanese have revealed they've caught on to what game-key cards are like, given Daemon X Machina: Titanic Scion sold better on PS5 at retail than on Switch 2 (the Japanese Switch 2 "physical" is one of those dreaded game-key card deals)...Guess those Japanese who wanted a physical of that game either got it on PS5 or imported a western Switch 2 copy (those are proper physicals), the latter of which wouldn't show up on their charts...

(And yes, for the record, the western Switch 2 physicals do in fact support Japanese...)

I’m looking forward to Nintendo announcing the Switch 2 lite. That will be a day one purchase for me.

@dazzleshell Super Mario Odyssey sold over 3.5 million in Japan.

@Serpenterror The PS5 went on sale at many retailers. That's why it jumped up like that.

Still on the fence about buying EG.

I seriously wonder why people even buy Xbox consoles anymore other than it being a luxury in addendum to another system they already own. It's become a two-horse race in the console market between Nintendo & Sony OR people just game on PC. Xbox's console sales started fading in the One generation and is flopping in the Series generation (haven't even hit 30 million). I guess Microsoft Xbox is not really at a loss if they have mostly shifted to becoming a storefront & service-based model.

@Pigeon there's terrible input lag. the ball doesn't seem to interact with the green. it feels like hitting a tennis ball in a parking lot then it just s l o w s down if that makes sense.
I own all of the hot shots games, even the tennis ones.
This one is NOT made by the team that made the old games.
I would recommend Easy Come Easy Golf, which isn't perfect, but it's way better than this.

Already almost 2 million Switch 2 sold. Impressive.

@shiningpikablu252 Yep, came here to post the exact same thing. Normally day-1 multi-platform games sell better on Switch in Japan. Usually about 50% to 100% better--especially for games with more Nintendo history (which DxM would certainly benefit from given the original game was a Switch console-exclusive).

Full top 30 is out. Looks like DxM Switch 2 GKC version was #13 with 5,485 units sold, which is about 34% less than the PS5 physical version.

The obvious difference here is that the Switch 2 version is a Game-Key Card in Japan. Looks like Japan is rejecting Game-Key Cards.

@StewdaMegaManNerd In addition to the above, take a look at the UK charts, where DxM sold 72% of its physical copies on Switch 2, outselling the PS5 physical version nearly 3:1. In the UK (and US), DxM is on a real physical cartridge. Pretty easy to see the pattern.

The game is pretty fun, but it seriously needs a Switch 2 update. Heck, it needs an every console update because there is a lot for it to improve on.

@MJF OK, thanks. I'll avoid. I too own all the EG games, including the psp pocket games. Love EG6 on the Vita and PS3, as well as Tennis on PSP.
Already own Clap Hanz' latest on Switch, but very grindy. Will play again though. Thanks again!
