Silk is a vital resource all throughout Pharloom, and for Hornet, it's the source of her skills and her ability to heal. In Silksong, Silk acts similarly to Soul in Hollow Knight, and likewise you can increase the amount of Silk Hornet can hold at once by seeking out Spool Fragments.
In this guide, we'll be showing you the location of all Spool Fragments in Silksong, which enable you to increase your maximum Silk capacity.

All 18 Spool Fragment Locations
To upgrade your Silk reserves, you'll need two fragments every time. You'll be using Silk a lot so they're worth seeking out as soon as you can.
There's 18 in total and you can get all of these in Act 1 and Act 2. So let's get threading!
Fragment 1 - Bone Bottom, near Mosshome

Your first Spool can be found above Bone Bottom, and you'll be able to access it after meeting Shakra for the first time. Once you've unlocked the gate to the top-left of her, head up and then go left until you can drop down into the long green room (good for farming Rosaries early on).
Head left here left and you'll enter a big green room with a large pit. Drop down carefully to the elevator, but instead of taking the elevator, go right and platform across to the other side to enter a small room.
Make your way through this room and you'll reach a dead end where spikes emerge from the floor. Break the wall here and walk through to find the Spool Fragment/
Fragment 2 - Deep Docks, lava room

This Spool Fragment is in a room below the forge shop in Deep Docks. From there, head left and down until you reach a tall room. Drop about halfway down and go through a door on the right to find a huge room full of solidified lava.
Here, run all the way to the right and climb the lava platforms, hitting the switch on the left. Then, use the platforms to hop to the upper-left side of the room to find this fragment on top of a shelf.
Fragment 3 - Greymoor, above the main entrance

For this one, you'll need the Drifter's Cloak and Cling Grip because there's a lot of precise platforming. We'd also recommend sticking the Reaper or Wander Crest on for an easier time using the balloon platforms.
Anyway, to get to this room, climb up in the first of the two towards to a new door on your right. Keep going right and you'll be back above the Halfway House. Again, head right through the next section and keep going until you reach a large area with a bridge. Cross it and hit the switch to drop the metal bridge (it's a shortcut to the main entrance).
Now you want to use the balloons and downward slash to make your way to the very top-right of the area. This is tricky, particularly with the Craw enemies!
You want to head left first, then climb up the small alcove here, then the second set of balloons will lead you to a small passage on the right. Climb up here, walk, and then glide across to the left to the Spool Fragment.
Fragment 4 - Bellhart, upgraded shop

Once you've completed the My Missing Courier quest in Bellhart, the shopkeeper will expand their wares, and you'll be able to buy a Spool Fragment for 270 Rosaries.
Fragment 5 - Weavenest Atla

This hidden area, east of the Moss Grotto, is home to a hidden Crest Upgrade, but there's also a fragment here.
You'll want to turn the lights on here (head all the way right) and then use the transported to head down. Then, climb the wall to the right and then head to the left side or the room.
In the next room, be careful of the enemies here and head up at the first instance. Kill the enemy, and then drop down on the other side to grab the Spool.
Fragment 6 - The Slab

When you've escaped jail and got your equipment back, you want to head to the left door in the main chamber (before the unlockable floor). Keep heading left and you'll end up back outside in the cold.
Climb the wall up and on the left side you'll see the fragment clear as day.
Fragment 7 - Cogwork Core

In the main lower room of Cogwork Core, you want to head all the way down to the bottom of the room. You can go either left or right to reach there. But be careful as the enemies, and cogs, are dangerous here.
Then, once you're at the bottom, head right and through a door, and there's your Spool!
Fragment 8 - Underworks, via Whiteward

In the east side of the Underworks — assuming you've come from Whiteward (which you need the White Key for) — head right into a large room with huge blocks and rings hanging in the air. Head right until you see a steep drop close to the large platform. Drop down.
Carefully make your way down here and, once you reach the bottom, grab the Spool in the left room.
Fragment 9 - Underworks combat room

When you reach the Ventrica lift in the Underworks, drop all the way down and go through the first door on the left.
In here, you'll be forced into a combat room against waves of workers. Defeat them all. Be careful as the middle of the floor will open up towards the end.
Once you're done, go left and the Spool Fragment will be waiting for you.
Fragment 10 - Grand Gate, Weight Scales

You can return to the Grand Gate by breaking the floor in the far southwest corner of the Choral Chambers map. Drop down and make your way through the vents to reach the Gate. Then use the scale platforms to reach the very top of the room.
Your next fragment is on the left.
Fragment 11 - Whiteward, under the elevator

Ride the White Elevator down to Whiteward and then climb all the way back up using Cling Grip.
Then, press the elevator switch to call it back up, but don't wait — drop down and go through the first doorway on the right (or left).
Wait for it to pass, the drop down and below where the elevator usually rests. Here's your Spool Fragment!
Fragment 12 - Whiteward, Quest reward from Sherma

Save Sherma by completing the 'Balm for the Wounded' Wish; he can be found in Whiteward.
Once you've defeated three waves of enemies, Sherma will thank you and hand you a Spool Fragment.
Fragment 13 - Blasted Steps, Flea Caravan

When the Flea Caravan moves from Greymoor to the Blasted Steps, speak to Mooshka and he'll give you this Fragment.
The caravan is located right by where you fought the Last Judge. You can also travel with them if you want!
Fragment 14 - Memorium, Thorn Jumping Puzzle

To get to Memorium, you'll need Double Jump.
In this area, you want to go all the way through it until you reach near the top. You'll see a broken glass wall. Head through it and you'll be inside some ventilation shafts.
Carefully float down (using the Drifter's Cloak) to the very bottom and you'll see some thorns and a platform. Land on the platform and make your way into the next room.
This can be tricky, but essentially, you want to make your way around the reverse-C shape using Clawline, float, Claw Grip, Swift Step, and double jump. The very last jump will require you to cling onto the wall, use Clawline, jump immediately and grab onto the next wall. Then, gently jump and dash forward and you'll drop to safety. Just ahead is the fragment.
Fragment 15 - Blasted Steps, Grindle's Store

Grindle the thief will eventually open a store just northwest of the Bellway (marked on the map above). You need Double Jump to even access it.
He sells lots of good stuff, but the key item here is the Spool Fragment, which will set you back 680 Rosaries. Ouch!
Fragment 16 - Choral Chambers (Songclave), Jubilana's store

Once you've completed 'The Missing Merchant' Wish, Jubilana will expand her store.
One of the new items is a Spool Fragment, which costs a rather pricey 500 Rosaries.
Fragment 17 - Deep Docks, behind the locked door

You can unlock the door underneath the Forge Daughter's store whenever you have a Simple Key on you, though to get this Spool Fragment, we highly recommend coming back with Double Jump (and the Magma Bell).
You want to keep heading right through all of the large rooms until you reach a dead end. Head to the bottom of this room and open the trap door below by hitting the switch.
You'll soon see the Spool Fragment, but you need to head left and down to reach the bottom of the room. Use the platforms as you go. Then head right and you'll find an explodable wall, which you need to use to get the Spool.
Then make your way through the jumping puzzle here to reach the Fragment.
Fragment 18 - High Halls, top of west tower

In High Halls, once you reach the first tall room, you want to keep climbing up. Eventually, you'll be in a room with rings, rotating cogs with rotating rings, and two large flying enemies.
Be careful navigating your way through here as these enemies can do two masks of damage, but they also can't be baited back to the solid ground at the bottom. So lots of pogo-ing. The Cogfly Tool (which you get in High Halls) is very useful here.
Once you make your way to the top, the Fragment is in the glass at the very top.
With your thread full and spool larger, you'll be able to take on everything Pharloom throws at you. We've got other collectibles and secrets covered in our Hollow Knight: Silksong walkthrough, so make sure you check it out!
